Don't let your personal wishes cloud your judgement. Infact if your so into Satanism. Why don't you just obey me. Maybe i'm touched by the heart of blackness. Who's say's i'm not a Dark Agent infiltrating society to pave the path for our Grand Master to rise P.s. Anton LeVey was according to his Son and Daughter a fraud. Numerous of documents proof he was lying and creating his own legend. |

Re: Strange?
So they say. Just because they say its true doesn't mean it is. Besides I'm an Atheist and I don't believe in a Satan. I just think the idea of him is cool and I like to read about witchcraft. I find it interesting. But there's really no more point to this thread. And also, I don't where you got your resources on his son saying he was a fraud, not sure on the daughter, but I know his son believed in him. His son actually said it himself.

Re: Strange?
I met and played with a female Warlock my level 2 nights ago. (As far as I know anyway, I didn't lift up her tail to check). I didn't find it strange. I was happy to see one, as I always am, it's nice to see people playing the character they really want to.
I think Blizz, like any other business, tries to appeal to the largest possible consumer base it can and I seriously doubt someone in the dev room is pounding his fist on the table demanding they be more true to any lore or gender or religion. In fact, I'd argue they most likely keep things generic and skewed as not to offend while at the same time appealing to every part of that mass market Seriously, we're playing with upright walking cows who shoot guns and wear dresses. |

Re: Strange?
You always gotta love when someone decides that there is no longer any point to a thread and it turns out that it's their thread to begin with...sounds like not enough people agreed with the OP to make him happy...lol
As for the original topic--meh, lore about how the game and real world coexist doesn't really interest me. I rolled a female undead lock from day one of this game and love every minute of it. Does this mean that I'm a gothy or satany chick in RL? No...but I'm no goody two shoes either. Getting to play something evil in the game is a good stress relief for me--I work in the help desk field and there are many a day when I wish I could Deathcoil some user into oblivion! ![]() |

Re: Strange?
Blizzard has used creative license to recontextualize what the word means. Historical real world context is really moot. And, any linguist will tell you: language is a changing, living thing. Word meanings evolve and change over time and culture.
Warlocks are simply a case in point for purposes of this discussion. |
