Headphones - which ones?

I've been looking for a new set of headphones with a built in mic, and here's what I've found so far:

Icemat Siberia

Steel Series SteelSound 5H V2 Headset

I was checking out the Razer headphones, but the reviews were pretty sketchy (lots of 1-3 stars on amazon)

Sennheiser PC 166 USB Stereo Multimedia Gaming Headset

Does anyone use any of these headphones or has a set that they recommend? I'm looking in the 50-100 USD range.

Thanks!

Re: Headphones - which ones?

I just went through this myself...

And bought these.. http://www.techonweb.com/products/pr...aspx?id=D01774

This is about 1/2 the price that i have found them anywhere else. and they shipped them very fast, like 2 days i had them.

I also bought this http://www.techonweb.com/products/pr...aspx?id=B68985

so i don't have to unplug all the time.

People have been commenting on how clear the mic is on mine, and i love how good everything sounds. I got the "open ear" model as i also have 3 kids, so i need to be able to hear them.

It's great, i can hear the game perfectly, and hear eveything going on around me.

I got both of them for less than 50$ shipped, and couldn't be happier.

I couldn't justify spending 150$ on a headset for a game....

I started looking at the plantroncis after the great review them got in game informer magazine during a comparison test of 6-7 different headsets.

Highly recommend them.

They are light on the ears and feel great, yet stay on my head perfect and cna be used for hours. The game sounds good, mic works perfect, and I can still hear music playing from my TV or radio.

Re: Headphones - which ones?

I have the Razers and although I love their mice...their headphones are just OK. If I had it to do over again I might go Sennheiser as I have another set from them (audio only) that I enjoy.

Re: Headphones - which ones?

I have been using Turtle Beach HPA2 for about a year now and love them.

-> 4 speakers per ear
-> easy to use amp/volume control
-> works with the 5.1 sound card
-> can leave your current speakers hooked up
-> comfortable to wear & use.

+ 1 ON THE Turtle Beach HPA2 - Same set of phones I use, Killer sound and if I remember correctly, I only paid about $90.. These are a little larger but not too heavy.. very comfortable too!

I originally purchased these for use in recording music ( I am a musician )
