Soul Calibur 2

God I love that game. For those who don't know it's a fighting game, characters use weapons, you can get ring outs it's simple enough that anyone can pick it up and stand their ground yet complex enough that after months of playing I'm still learning new things. Where I live it's what we do, whenever someone comes over, "soul calibur 2?" "Yeah, all right" and then it starts.... and it refuses to stop. Most people don't like playing against me anymore though, they say I'm too good at it. Just because I beat them 34 matches to 5 doesn't mean they should stop playing does it :badgrin:

Well was just wondering if anyone from the board plays it, what they think of it and any stories they have from it.

haha! we had a discussion about this a while ago. i'm sure Kalazor will fill you in on his perspective of Soul Calibur 2.

I love the game. I played all the way through every one of the missions. I also became extremely good with voldo and can therefore kick anyone's butt. 8)

I only found one of the missions exceedingly dificult, the second time on the church mission, I believe it's the one where you need to be an edgemaster then beat it and it gives you that edgemaster area, it was a time attack one anyways.

I hate Voldo, he annoys me, cool character just hate playing against him, I play lot's of characters because I get too good with one then they complain so I have to start a new one :lol:

I play Kilik, Nightmare, Cervantes, Astaroth, Yoshimitsu (so fun to play as), Necrid, Ivy and Assassin (occasionaly for those 2)

isnt soul calibur 2 that anime fighting game where they can change shape or something? and where they have some crazy unreal weapons?

Change shape no, crazy weapons... I guess maybe one or two. But no it's not, it's hard to describe though.

meh, sc2 is alright.

I prefer mortal kombat.

I think sc2 is a much easier game to master than the new mortal kombats. sc2 is basically a button masher. People like it so much cause they can hit a crapton of buttons and their guys do like 9000000 hit combos.

I'm sure I'll get flak for this post, but whatever.

I can see how one could think that, because it is very easy to just pick it up and do combos, but it is definately very deep if you decide to take the time to learn your character instead of slamming random buttons. MKs are good as well though.
