Xbox Live Trouble

I currently have a normal Xbox. I have been trying to get on Xbox live for a while now and it is not working. When I check my connection under Settings>Network Connection>Connect, everything is good to go. When I get to entering the subscription code, i enter it correctly and all, then it says it is having "Technical difficulties. Try again later."

The clerk guy said that it was compatible with the normal Xbox, but I doubted him, and now I regret not going to a different store.

(1) So, anyone know for sure if this can work or not? (2) If it can't, should i go look for the normal one? Im getting a 360 for Christmas, (3)would the "old" Xbox Live kit not work with a 360? (4) Or should i just give up and wait until Christmas for Live?

the 360 codes do not work on the normal xbox last time i check. You can however transer an account from the 360 to the xbox. What i suggest you do is call 1-800-4mybox and they should tell you the correct info.

Well the thing is I don't have a 360 yet .

I guess ill just call them and see if they can give me a code that will work on normal xbox, and just make the code i have unusable
