Warhammer
I was just checking out the Warhammer site and the game looks very cool, especially the character graphics. Hopefully it will live up to its expectations. I know very little about it other than what I've heard here and there, which is both good and bad.
Anyone planning on playing or at least trying it? Your thoughts on it, both good and bad. |

Re: Warhammer
The toons should be very similar to WoW. For example, there's a Witch Elf that should be very much like a rogue. She uses poisons, is very quick and agile, puts out a lot of damage very quickly but lacking in armor. There's also the Bright Wizard which should be very much like a mage putting out heavy spell damage. Check out this link, it will show you a little more about the armies. http://www.warhammeronline.com/engli...o/armiesofWAR/
The closest thing to a Lock that I saw was the Chaos Zealot but then again I haven't read about all of them. http://www.warhammeronline.com/engli...ers/Zealot.php Last edited by BiggaTriga; November 20, 2007 at 09:38 AM. |

Re: Warhammer
A few years back I was an avid Medal of Honor clan/team gamer. EA's lack of support for the community in dealing with hacks and exploits was abysmal at best. Given that WH is 100% online and vastly more reliant on updates by EA support, there is no way in heck I would every consider WH.
Blizzard, for 10 years worth of games I have purchased from them, has proven to be very reliable overall. Sure they have issues, as with the nature of any online game. EA is all about the $. Maintenance and updates are a non-revenue generating cost, and I see EA doing the minimal in supporting their WH community. AoC, though, looks very cool. Eidos has always put out decent stuff. I have to give AoC a shout out, though being adult in nature already gives it less of a player base compared to WoW (factoring in non-dum dum parents and the ESRB rating might be for us adults). I'll still try it, it's a great franchise. |

Re: Warhammer
As far as I know it will not have PvE.
Altough characters grow with you. For example the amount of experience will be visuale by the lenght of the beard. I don't think there will be such a big difference between Blizzard and EA. There both money makers. I have not seen Blizz doing any charity towards us. As for the bug fixes and exploits. We pay a montly fee. I suits them to upgrade and maintance the game. Just putting up a server, firing everybody and collecting the money is a no no anyway. |

Re: Warhammer
It's a shame that Mythic got bought up by EA - Back in the day (pre-ToA) Dark Age of Camelot rocked. IMHO old-school DAoC PvP was WAY better than WoW PvP (sure they were a little buggy, but siege weapons were awesome). Hopefully whatever is left of Mythic can keep Warhammer decent and EA won't crap all over it.

Re: Warhammer
I'm in the beta for WAR. That is all i can say about it. But i'm going to give it a try when they release it, espiecially since these recent patches with WoW caused my audio to crap out and cause a lot of latency. I ended up uninstalling my sound drivers. Now i have 60ms instead of 1200ms. Sorry for being off topic.

Re: Warhammer
Hopefully Mythic keeps this on track. The RvR system for PvP has been the best PvP experience I have had. EA is providing the funding but Mythic is making/maintaining the game. I will definitely give it a shot.
Leveling through PvP and PvE. Looting items off people (not their items). Tons of other features with quests and such. It will be something different, and I think it may be a viable contender with WoW. Mythic creativity and EA money. War Hammer genre has been around longer than Warcraft, so there is a rich story line that can be implemented. |

Re: Warhammer
I hope they dont have (or very limited) PvE, which wont really give you alot. If they do, you'll end up with nolife guilds (a.k.a. nihilum, curse etc. etc.) giving Warhammer Online the same kind of problems which is causing so many people to leave WoW...
Forgot to tell: Not trying it, totally sick of them mmorpg's which just siphon my money for nothing >_>, that's why I stopped WoW, I still like to leave a reply here and there though ;) I was planning on buying it at first, but at the end, it'll be the same shit as WoW and that's exactly the reason why I aint gunna waste any money on Warhammer Online (or any other mmorpg you gotta pay for) because probally at some point i'll just be farming and farming and farming and seeing other people get the ownz0repicz. I do collect the 'Citadel' minatures of Warhammer though (the glue and paint stuff, it rocks !) Last edited by Illqqmore; November 20, 2007 at 12:59 PM. |
