Re: Corded optical mice

Razer is a great mouse company like post above states. They are probably the best gaming mouse out there, but they are very sensitive so it takes some getting used to.

Copperhead was a nice one.

Right now at home I have a logitech mx1000 laser mouse and it's on it's last legs, it's not keeping a charge and just acts crazy pretty much most of the time.

I agree, charging is a pain if you play a lot and forget to keep it topped off all of the time.

Re: Corded optical mice

I tryed both a razer and a logitech mx5, and i kept the mx5.

My $0.02 is that razer is too big for my hand, and a bit too flat. Mx5 fits better. And it's lighter too.

Do yourself a big gift and buy a professional mousepad too.

And.... wow doesn't need all that quickness and precision (try to play counterstrike with AWP if you wanna test how fast and precise your mouse is), but stay away from cordless mices or keyboards!!!

Re: Corded optical mice

I had the logitech mx518 before i switched to the microsoft sidewinder, and the logitech was just to small for me, but it is a good mouse, have to try the razor mices to see if they fit my hand even better.

Re: Corded optical mice

i have a nice fancy G-5 thingy.. it has weights!
but meh, its a nice mouse, does the job, and has extra buttons i can bind for vent and creating/targeting focused mobs

i WAS using a Z board, buuuut i found out the hard way what a piece o crap they are, keys require a jackhammer to press down, and the keyboard itself screwed up all the time

Re: Corded optical mice

I use a razer copperhead and love it! Just a warning, do NOT update your mouse firmware/software from microsoft update. I did that because they had a recommended update and it BROKE my mouse! Oh, and its a huge pain to try to fix a mouse.. without the use of a mouse.

Before that I had a battery powered cordless mouse and I only had to change the battery once every 5-6 months.

The biggest reason taht I went with the razer mouse was because of the amount of buttons on it. It has 6 buttons + clickable middle scroll wheel. I use all of them (via clique) and it works great.

Re: Corded optical mice

I spent months trying to decide on a mouse that'll suit me and the 2007 edition of the Logitech G7 was the one for me! 7 customizable buttons, adjustable weights, beautiful threaded cord, sweet blue earthy skin that attracts attention, and it just feels amazing. All in all, I am sure that I made the right decision!

Re: Corded optical mice

Get either a Logitec G5 Laser mouse or the new M$ Sidewinder (depending on the size of your hand and your taste).

I agree on both accounts, the razer design is a larger footprint, and some of them are on the flat side. The copperhead is a sure one of that. Myself, I found it to be both and when I upgraded to the Death Adder, it was a huge difference. Its smaller, taller, more molded to your hand. The buttons have been relocated for easier use. As for the quickness...and the sensitivity, oh yes they are. However, they do include that neat software to change the settings while in the game. turn down the sensitity and volia.

They do take a few days to get used to and adjust to your liking, but once you have it dialed in... you will be wowed by these mice.

I think the big thing in any choice for mice, keyboards or anything is up to your own taste and liking. Go to the store, tryout some different ones in the display. Find what you like.

Re: Corded optical mice

Logitech is awesome. They've got good software that even lets you program the buttons on it. I have mine set up so all the extra buttons on the mouse are linked to various spells on my action bar. I rarely have to even click the action bar or use the keyboard to access the majority of my main spells. Plus, i have a shift modifier macro that triples the spells i can cast with my mouse, just hold shift and my actionbar switches to a different set of spells, same with alt.

There isn't anything wrong with a wireless mouse so long as you remember to charge it. Mine usually goes for 2-3 days before I need to recharge, and even then its just a matter of putting it on the charger when i turn the game off, when i come back its fully charged for the next few days. It has never died while playing, and the warning indicator goes off while you still have atleast an hour or two left before it actually dies. I love mine!
