Re: Corded optical mice
Logitech MX518 > all. Just watch for the cable wearing out (I've owned 2-3 Logitech mice that have had their cables wear out after a couple of years). They also happen to be superb for playing FPS (I used to be low+/med- skill at Enemy Territory and fairly good at CPMA and I used to LOVE the MX518 @ 500hz/400dpi + QPad CT combo) coupled with a decent pad.

Re: Corded optical mice
I have a Microsoft cordless keyboard and mouse, when I bought my white box in 1994.
I have changed the batteries once in the keyboard and 2 or 3 times in the mouse. No complaints from me - I couldnt live without them! |

Re: Corded optical mice
Ok ordered a Logitech mx400 corded laser mouse, not the most sexy of functions, but at £25 very reasonable. The reviews were positive too.
I suspect the buttons on the side - normally used for scrolling - could be programed, but not a issue if not. |

Re: Corded optical mice
Razer is my favorite, though it's all a matter of personal preference.

Re: Corded optical mice
I'm looking at a new mouse, alot of you have talked about Razor being the best. My question is what make it the better one over the other one's?

Re: Corded optical mice
I currently am using a Logitech G5 because Razer significantly changed the shape of their mice about a year ago and I didn't like the lower profile. They have since changed the shape again and when my G5 goes out I will switch back.
Why switch back? 1. The response from a Razer is far superior to any other mouse I have ever used. Yes my G5 works just fine and has a great response time but in comparison to my old Razer it lags just a little bit and I am sure with the newer Razer mice out there my little G5 will probably feel slow. 2. More buttons. Simply put a Razer has more buttons on it and you can program them all. 3. On the fly sensitivity that is fully programmable. It takes a while to get the settings right, it takes a while to get used to having it but in the end this feature rocks. 4. The shape itself. It will take a while to get used to as your hand lays in a more flat position than most mice but I assure you after you get used to it it's wonderful. Your hand doesn't cramp ever and it is just a smooth sleek feel. A thing to remember when your looking at performance mice is look for a good mouse pad while you are at it. Why drop that kind of money on a mouse and use a sub par mouse pad or no mouse pad at all? a quality mouse pad will not only further improve performance but will also increase the lifespan of those smooth sailing feet. Just remember if this is your first Razer, epically if it is your first performance mouse, it takes a while to get used to the fast response time and different feel but that is time well spent because in the end the performance, feel and comfort of a Razer is beyond words. |

Re: Corded optical mice
I really enjoy my Razer Diamondback.
http://www.razerzone.com/index.php?m...&products_id=9 The 1800 dpi really cuts down on the wrist movement which is nice on those long playing days. Once you get use to it you never go back to $10 mice. Last edited by abar22; December 07, 2007 at 03:57 PM.. |

Re: Corded optical mice
Those that have them which is the better mouse the Deathadder or the Diamondback? I like the look of the Deathadder but I like the shape of the Diamondback. Need help in deciding which one to buy.

I would say that the DeathAdder is the better out of the two. Its a newer model, and as stated above, they went back to they old shape which is more comfortable and such forth. Myself I have a DeathAdder and it is beyond words. Smooth as a babies bottom for movement..almost effortless. Comfortable. those long instance runs do not kill your wrist. On top of all that..all the normal things for a razer mouse..they kick butt. One point of intrest..is that its not a laser mouse...its infrared. Appairently they now have a new mouse out...even better. Now its 4000Dpi instead of 1800-2000.... the Razer Lachesis... http://www.razerzone.com/index.php?m...products_id=72 |

Re: Corded optical mice
Just placed my order, Thanks for the information Talonn. I had to pass on the new Lachesis just a little to much $$$. I can't wait to get it. It will be a long three days.
