Kinda funny how the description of warlocks actually relays into how people react to warlocks in the game? I mean, for the most part we're hated for what we are, constantly misunderstood, and most definitely feared.

Just something I realized while browsing the Den, doubt it's a giant revelation, but it is interesting to note.

What's even more interesting is other classes moaning regarding the warlock abilities. Spells such as Drain Life or Siphon Life is considered some of the strongest abilities in PvP, and many people tend to say they're OP. But if you read into warlock lore, the need to drain others of their life and magic is THE key difference between a mage and warlock, or good vs. evil if you like.

From a lore standpoint, the fact that we are dealing with Fel-magic and demons makes us naughty to the world at large - these are the same powers that are connected with Sargeras and the Burning Legion after all.

Now, where is our green-fire dammit.

Is it WRONG that I like being Naughty????

In March it'll be three years playing my lock, and I wouldn't trade her for any other main. I suppose with every class, you take the good with the bad, but for the most part when I read or hear negative comments about warlocks, I chalk it up to mere jealousy. They can't all be as fun and naughty as we are!

Re: Walocks...

One thing that cracks me up is I read that a Christian/Bible group-like based guild would absolutely take NO warlocks.

From guild charter~
“We do not accept Warlocks as members. The Warlock class delights in dark magic and utilizes demons, and satanic runes for assistance. In addition, if you zoom in really close, you can see fireballs coming from between their legs. Playing a Warlock is a bad testimony and could open your heart to Satanic influences.”
http://www.landoverbaptist.org/news1...ldcharter.html

Oh, and if you are a hordie (which ALL 7 68+ chars of mine ARE!)~
“We do not play Horde characters. Horde are usually older people and/or Blizzard developers and are not as open to hearing the Gospel of Christ. Horde are also unclean, animal-like characters. Just ask yourself, What Race Would Jesus Play? Human! of course! We understand it can be argued that Jesus would also play "undead," but we're not allowing that, until they clean up their appearance.”

I thought that was funny. I am not bagging the site or what these guys do, it’s their business and I will agree to disagree with them, but that is a great example of warlock assumptions.

Another great one I recall is a forum thread where I druid would not heal a hunter because the person behind that druid was a peta type. That person assumed that hunters abused their animals; making them kill and eat meat and what not…so as a result that druid would not heal hunters at all. The great part of that thread was all of the remarks people posted. It made good laughs on an otherwise dull workday.

I know the druid is a little off the subject, but it’s pretty funny.

Re: Walocks...

I thought talking about your religion of choice was reportable under TOS (which I disagree with but understand in the world wide scope of the game).

And are Taruans Cloven hoofed? Which would make them unclean to eat under Jewish law.

"3. We do not participate in any raid that takes over 30 minutes. Long raids are a waste of precious time that is better spent PM'ing and broadcasting the message of Jesus Christ"

OMG ROFLMAO!!!

You guys do realize that landoverbaptist is a satirical site, mostly making fun of Reverend Phelps and his group of freaks, right?
Check out some of the other sections of the site - There's some hilarious stuff on there.
