What do you play WoW on?
I'm needing a new computer bad. Actually plan on buying or ordering one this weekend. Just curious what other people use to play the game.
Pre-built PC, Modified Pre-built w/ Vid card, Custom built or ?? I'm think I may try my hand at building my own, just looking for a little input. TIA |

I play on a new macbook pro. Runs great with just the standard 2gb ram and video card.

Re: What do you play WoW on?
I play on a pc I built almost 4 years ago and it wasn't the top items out at the time either-cost me about $700. You can either do like me and build yourself, or for custom pc without assembly check sites like
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com iBUYPOWER: Custom Build Gaming Computers Desktop PCs, Notebooks and other similar sites. You can put a nice pc together and it won't cost you too much-especially if you check the deals. Also if you do put your own pc together keep in mind your actual computer usage. I built mine with an 80 gig hard drive, and when I build my new one I don't think I'll be getting a whole lot higher, mainly considering I still haven't even used half of this one. just things to think about |

Re: What do you play WoW on?
If you have the money, get a mac. If you dont, building your own pc is probably the cheapest and best way to get a good computer, because you know exactly what you want/need, and can leave out all the extra features.

Re: What do you play WoW on?
Also depends on what you're playing. If WoW is it for you, then a thousand bucks will do you fine...but, if you wanna play Crysis or Unreal Tournament, then thats just not gonna cut it. But I agree with terrorist. I dropped 2 grand with iBuypower so that I could go quad core and havnt regretted it at all. WoW looks great with everything turned up all t he way at 60fps.

Re: What do you play WoW on?
Piece of crap "package" form best buy that had literally nothing. 500 megabytes of ram, used the motherboard for video, no sound card. Nothing. Cost me $300 for it all, came with speakers, keyboard, mouse (replaced), and a monitor. A nice monitor too (flat screen, 21 in), which if bought separately would have cost me about $150 probably. Then, replaced all the ram with 4 gigs. Got a dual-core 2 GHz Pentium processor. And a geforce 7600 video card. All from newegg.com Cost me around about $225. I had a old soundblaster card lying around that works just fine. Total spent = $550 (got an uber OP mouse of doom) for a computer that runs fantastic, and a great deal on a good monitor. Didnt even have to actually build it myself either.
Another added perk (did NOT come preloaded with vista ) |

Re: What do you play WoW on?
Just got myself a spanking new iMac 24" with 2GB ram. Lagged a lot in Sh. City when mounted. But in an extra gig. Now with 3 Gb ram, smooth. real happy with that setup.
