By all means have your view on it but it's against Blizzard's terms of use and the Den is legit.

Facts are in wow or in life, if you can't be bothered to do what's necessary then you don't deserve the end result. Simple. They got banned because it trivialises the efforts of people that play this game for fun and the way it's *meant* to be played. Letting a family member play your character occasionally is different, it's still being played by someone.
Just to play devil's advocate and I find it interesting that one form of cheating is bad while another is considered "ok"...isn't account sharing also against Blizz's TOS? One could also apply the above quoted statement to having a family member play your character for you....Yes its still being played by someone ...but....Its still cheating according to blizz.

On to the subject....I think its a great thing to get the gold sellers banned...however, I have noticed a huge spike in the price of things in the AH, and that while its great for the seller..for the buyer, eh not so good. especially for the new player who doesn't have 2 level 70's to send money from. level 40 "OF THE EAGLE" stuff going for 29-35 gold on my server, makes me a sad panda with bleeding eyes. so i kinda miss the botters that bot for leveling. it kept the prices in check.

and lets face it some of the old world (even some outland) quest rewards are major suckage!!!!!! who wouldn't want to enhance their equipment from the ah. However at those prices theres no way.

Meh, until people find themselves related by blood to third party programs I'll consider it different.

Blizz aren't fond of account sharing for 2 reasons. 1. Security risks, which is a valid concern with the amount of hackage that goes on and: 2. why have 2 people playing the game for the same price as one? They understandably want maximum revenue.

Using a bot to level up / grind what have you is very different to say, asking <insert trusted friend or family member> to walk my character into Gadgetzan once it gets off the bat in Tanaris while I go for a pee so it doesn't get AFK ganked. I find that to be more in the spirit of the game rather than writing a glider script to walk from the flight master.

I wasn't strictly talking about having a brood of kids to farm gold for you.

Though.... tempting... (I joke)

Also: with regards to the AH going a bit nuts. That's either the lack of bot farmed stuff selling cheaply *or* the remaining botters trying to make as much hay while the sun still shines for them (could just be greedy players or whatever, but there are several ways of looking at it). I think the buyers will eventually determine the market costs for these things and it should calm down in time. The AH fluctuates anyway to a degree.

The good thing is that even though it's expensive, we are a little more assured that it's an actual player who put time in to get the item who is selling it. What's more, if botters are gradually edged out it will mean that places can return to being farmed purely by real people behind the monitor, and that's got to be good for everyone who wants to earn some gold legitimately. Read: less competition from bots.
