Re: Pass or present warlock's
I started WoW a bit more than a year ago, only with my warlock. I did raid BT/MH as Demonolgist, never liked the 41/20 sacrifice build. The patch 3.0.2 times were fun, with Meta and other stuff around. I enjoyed the power of deep affliction in 3.0.8. Now I like 40/31 demo/conflagrate build, its really fun to play. I really like that there are new raiding builds with every patch, I hope this will be the same with future patches. Changes are fun! Never been that deep into PvP, now for the first time I have an almost full PvP set (do some wintergrasp and VoA and you get it...) and it really helps. |

Re: Pass or present warlock's
I started in Feb/2008, when I installed Wow "Classic". They are giving 30 days of play, since I like "magic" character, I started with mage. Ended 30 days, I was feeling "weak" with my mage. Then installed BC and started a blood elf warlock. I "enjoyed" leveling him .But when I arrive level 70, it's became very frustrated, no one wanted go to instances with a "green" lock and most of warlock gone to arena with SL/SL build. I started to go in BG "a lot", because is the only way to have "enough" equip to go instances, but still people wanted lock only for arena :P . Then arrive Wrath of the Lich King, and a lot of people started to want a warlock to "help" (dps/utility) for raid/instances. Now we are broken in pvp(arena) :S . This is mean to be warlock, always changing. |

Re: Pass or present warlock's
Jan '05 for myself. I miss old AV. When it started to come down in time just a little bit. You'd still spend all day on a single match, but not 2 days. Never actually spec'd for pvp I was 31/0/20 dark pact affliction. That didn't stop me though. I'd go head first into the front line, dropping Corruptions, CoAs and shadowburns. Looking for the chance to instant shadowbolt through nightfall. I had this "triple threat" combo where I'd open in the distance with a shadowbolt, then death coil and shadowburn and it would devistate. I think this was my old spec: Affliction Talents (31 points) Improved Corruption - 5/5 points Reduces the casting time of your Corruption spell by 2 seconds. Suppression - 5/5 points Reduces the chance for enemies to resist your Affliction spells by 10%. Improved Drain Soul - 1/2 point Gives you a 50% chance to get a 100% increase to your Mana regeneration for 10 sec if the target is killed by the warlock while you drain its soul. In addition your Mana may continue to regenerate while casting at 50% of normal Fel Concentration - 5/5 points Gives you a 70% chance to avoid interruption caused by damage while channelling the Drain Life, Drain Mana, or Drain Soul spell. Improved Curse of Agony - 3/3 points Increases the damage done by your Curse of Agony by 6%. Amplify Curse - 1/1 point Increases the effect of your next Curse of Weakness or Curse of Agony by 50%, or your next Curse of Exhaustion by 20%. Grim Reach - 2/2 points Increases the range of your Affliction spells by 20%. Nightfall - 2/2 points Gives your Corruption and Drain Life spells a 4% chance to cause you to enter a Shadow Trance state after damaging the opponent. The Shadow Trance state reduces the casting time of your next Shadow Bolt spell by 100%. Siphon Life - 1/1 point Transfers 15 health from the target to the caster every 3 seconds. Lasts 30 seconds. Level 38: 22 health every 3 seconds Level 48: 33 health every 3 seconds Level 58: 45 health every 3 seconds Shadow Mastery - 5/5 points Increases the damage dealt or life drained by your Shadow spells by 10%. Dark Pact - 1/1 point Drains 150 of your pet's Mana, returning 100% to you. Level 50: 200 Mana Level 60: 250 Mana Demonology Talents (0 points) None Destruction Talents (20 points) Improved Shadow Bolt - 5/5 points Your Shadow Bolt critical strikes increase the next 4 sources of Shadow damage dealt to the target by 20%. Effect lasts a maximum of 12 seconds. Bane - 5/5 points Reduces the casting time of your Shadow Bolt and Immolate spells by 0.5 sec and your Soul Fire spell by 2.0 sec. Devastation - 5/5 points Increases the critical strike chance of your Destruction spells by 5%. Shadowburn - 1/1 point Instantly blasts the target for 87 to 99 Shadow damage. If the target dies from Shadowburn, and yields experience or honor, the caster gains a Soul Shard. Level 24: 115 to 131 damage Level 32: 186 to 210 damage Level 40: 261 to 293 damage Level 48: 350 to 392 damage Level 56: 450 to 502 damage Intensity - 2/2 points Gives you a 70% chance to resist interruption caused by damage while channeling the Rain of Fire, Hellfire or Soul Fire spell. Destructive Reach - 2/2 points Increases the range of your Destruction spells by 20%. Re: Pass or present warlock's
I started my warlock in april 05, raided onyxia, MC and a bit of BWL, in BC did karazhan-illidan, got bored with spamming shadowbolts (come I defy anyone to say it was a fun and interesting rotation as 0/21/40) and rerolled tank paladin, my current main. I am currently raiding ulduar 10man as tank, and gearing my warlock up to be able to help out if a dps drops out.

Re: Pass or present warlock's
I originally started a rogue (I think in early 2006) and after I leveled him to 60 I started a gnome warlock, (originally it was sort of a joke, as a bunch of people made gnome mages with "Super-" in their names after a epic lvl60 gnome mage named Superboy asked us too - he said it would be cool...) :P Anyway, I thought I would be different and make a warlock instead, and thus Superpoof was born! PS~ The rest were all gnome mages though, the ones I can remember were: Superboy, Superclone (looked identicle to Superboy, lol), Supercrisies, Supergnome, Superduper, Superstabby (actually a gnome rogue)...and of course Superpoof! I can't remember if there were any more or not, but none-the-less it sure was fun running around leveling with a bunch of gnome mages, lol. Disclaimer: Yes, I also have a Death Knight...and he is in mostly ilvl 213 gear too. ;) ------------------------ LOL, I just thought of something...picture a 5v5 with all gnome mages...with the name Super[variable]...all using their clones at the same time...it...would...be...AMAZING! =P

Re: Past or present warlocks
Been playing WoW since January 2008, levelled a Warrior (and many alts). Decided to start over having learned lots and created a Warlock on a new Realm where a guild was looking for re-rollers. My Warlock will be the first character I'll get to end level, my Warrior got to L64. I levelled as Affliction up to L68(?), then switched to Destruction in the belief it might help my dismal DPS in instances (mainly due to DoTs not running to end on trash). By Northrend I had improved my DPS a bit but still seemed at least 100 dps behind the rest. I was 300 behind the leader in Utgarde Keep, although he was in Kara gear. Much happier with my rotation and damage output while levelling since the 3.1 patch, although I am a bit confused by what is going to happening to Glyph of Conflagration in 3.1.2 At L76 I actually feel like I am a proper DPS at last, mobs at my level usually die in 6 seconds. I moved Chaos Bolt up in the rotation and found that if I didn't cast Conflagration I can avoid pulling aggro most of the time. One thing I've noticed is conflaration seems to stun mobs (all the time), this didn't seem to happen before the patch. |

Quote:
When I dinged 80 I went for Affl first aswell. But oddly enough my friends always had better dps than me on the overall data. But then, I decided to check my dps on just bosses. And it was equal or higher to theirs, the thing with Affl is that it takes time to build up a nice dps number, something you can't manage on trash mobs cause they die to fast. EDIT ----- In an attempt to not be totally off topic: I started playing wow a month or so after The Burning Crusade came out. Late, I know. But before that I had been a major FPS player and that consumed most of my time. Sad to say, I never experience the time in which warlocks could still fearspam and kill people in BG's. We were good DPS in raids and we could handle mellee. But the time that lock was the OP class I missed. I'm satisfied with warlocks in Wrath of the Lich King right now. But I'm thinking that this won't remain the same for long. I feel a nerf comming. Eventhough I can name at least two other classes who could use a nerf more than we do.-cough- pala, rogue -cough-
