What's your LATENCY? LEATRIX Latency FIx
Hey, my latency is in the 300's most of the time and last night (not the first time) it was around 1200 which means every time a boss fight started i was booted. I am researching today to find that leatrix latency fix will help? But the people using this all had problems with a latency of 200 or so and now they have 60. Is this accurate? Does anyone have experience with this leatrix latency fix? It is a script which performs registry change commands which an unexperienced networker as my self should not be doing unless by a thrid party program such as this which keeps me from screwing up! I don't know much that could help...but I too suffer from horrible lat due to a sat connection (1500-1700+ms is norm...usually get booted around 4k) so now I am curious if this would be any use to me as well?

Personally, I don't really know the Leatric stuff. Though, the only stuff I used to tweak my internet connection is coming from SpeedGuide.net :: The Broadband Guide You can check the (Broadband - Download/Patchs) section of the site to find TCP Optimizer You can also check the (Broadband - Registry Tweaks) for small fix. This site cover Linux/Windows/Explorer/Firefox/Hardware/etc. My latency is around 90 to 132 and the only time it goes higher than that is when my ISP crash. Hope this help |

I do know about some registry editing you can perform to make latency issues better, but always when your editing registry, you have the risk of corruption of files and system 32 files, and its always a good idea to back it up. As for the LEATRIX im not sure what to think about it, but reading some of it, it required a PC restart. Quote:

#1 how do i back up registry files? #2 it says you do not have to restart.. If you do not want to restart you just disable/then renable your network card. I read several reviews where thy did just that and it worked with no restart (if restarting is a sign of a bad idea) lol cause i have no clue! |

Well, if it requests to restart, its probably best to do it. Here is a guide on Microsoft's website on backin up registry's. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows edit; Also if its disablign and enabling network card, the program edits a HKEY of the network card, allowing the edit of TCPAck and how the network card handles incoming and outgoing requests to blizzard servers. I would defiantly not be working on this if you wanna raid ulduar tonight. Wait until you have at least a day to test everything out. and if it was me, I would just restart, its easier. |
