tabard question

Okay, please forgive me if this is a really stupid question...
I know the tool tip says "All reputation gains while in level 80 dungeons will be applied to your standing with them." My question is simply do you gain rep in raids at all? Normally I wouldn't ask but I thought that I was when I was farming Wrymrest rep but I have run OS and Naxx (both 25 mans) over the last couple of days and haven't gotten any rep for the Argent. Do I really have to go and farm heroics more? If you can't farm rep in heroic raids then I have to say that is just stupid.

Re: tabard question

Thank you Coud.

I really don't understand why they would do this but hey.... I didn't make the game. One would assume that downing KT would be more reputable than oh I don't know... say Prince Kelseth.

Re: tabard question

If rep gains were available in raids, no one would be doing the heroic dungeons because of the massive rep potential of the raid instances. There are lots of casual players out there that do not raid or cannot raid and it would be impossible for them to find a group for 5-mans if all the raiders had shunned 5-mans.

Yes, it would be nice for raids to yield some rep though.

Yeah exactly. I have over 250 conquest badges and still don't have all the faction reps from heroics lol. Pretty sad of me really. I'll probably finish off argent crusade soon with another week of those dailies, but I do occasionally get interested in a heroic to still get more faction rep.

Re: tabard question

I'm not sure you could do that. Not too many people are capable of going directly from green 80 to Naxx 10. I remember when I first dinged 80 I was still only doing about 1.8k dps or so. That would never fly in Naxx; I feel badly only doing 3+k in naxx 10. Also if the amount of rep per mob remained the same I don't know why it would be an issue. The mobs are harder to kill in Naxx/Ulduar so it would be "easier" to farm rep in heroics rather than a raid. Think of it like this. How many times have you wiped on trash in a heroic. How about a raid?

Re: tabard question

well as a 25man raider, i can safely say that we're quite capable of 9manning ulduar10 and prob 5 to 6 manning naxx 10

it's entirely possible to skip heriocs if you have a decent guild willing to run you, likelihood is low but hey

Re: tabard question

I'm running maybe 60% pvp purples, there's no real reason for more heroics since there are no real upgrades, so rep will have to wait. Ascendancy and Titan-Forged Dominance FTW

On the other side of it, the main reason to gain rep is the entry level raid gear, which above purples negate the point of so maybe 2 weeks pvping is more valuable than a month or 2 or hc's?

I think naxx is the next place my upgrades can come from

Re: tabard question

I'm really only doing rep for the recipe rewards not the gear... well that's not entirely true because I do still need the shoulder enchant from Hodir.
