Help with computer slowdown
Ok, my computer. It was custom built from a web site. Which I will not promote here, but if you want to know just ask me, they did a really good job, and were very cheep. Now on to my question. (back round information. I got it factory overclocked, and the only other thing that I have done to it was add some more ram and cleaned out the case of dust. It has 3 fans one BIG one and two little ones, and my temp rarely goes over 75 deg). Anyways and ended up downloading a virus and having to wipe all my hard drives and reinstall everything. I updated all the drivers and I went in and did the best job I know how to do to overclock it again. Here are my specs CPU-Z Validator 3.1 I read somewhere that Over 4 GB of ram on a 32 bit OS is a waste, and can even slow your computer. But I am running duel channel SLI and I don't know If that is ture. I have noticed a significant slow down when playing WoW, Before the wipe of the hard drives I NEVER got below 58 FPS, even in Dal. Now I run at 58 FPS on a good day, except in 25 man raids and cities, it drops to something like 19 fps. I am at a loss. I make sure that I turn off all non-essential programs, I have ran two different virus programs, as well as spybot and regcure. I don't think its a virus issue. Any help on trying to find my issue would be greatly appreciated EDIT: I can not spell lol |

Re: Help with computer slowdown
4 gigs of ram is a waste. A 32 bit OS can see 3.12 max. If you want to use more I would go up to windows 7 64bit when it comes out on oct 22nd. Also WoW does not use SLI so it's a waste in this game. Why it's slowing down now I have no idea. I would have to be there to look at it. |
