robman8 Character Info Nexthanatos 80 Undead Warlock Blackdragonflight US PvP Guild: Vulgatarians Talent Spec: 0/13/58	overall dps question Hello All, Ive been veraciousally devouring infomation on this site, ive already read socketing guide, destro rotation, destro dps spec setup, and some gear stuff. Im currentally pulling 1.3k to 1.4k DPS. heres my rotation:(non boss) CoE--Corruption--Immolate--(wil use lifetap before due to glyph)Conflag--Chaos--Incinerate--and spam incinerate until conflag procs. boss is the same except CoE is replaced with CoD then after CoD drops i put on CoE heres a link to my armoury: The World of Warcraft Armory ive been making sure to continue casting no stops. however i feel as if my DPS is low for my current setup, i keep hearing "i should be pulling 2k on quest gear" im not sure how to boost this number up higher. Any suggestions are welcome

Personally, in heroics, i do Immo -> conflag -> chaos -> inc, inc, inc, inc ->conflag -> inc -> immo -> chaos. Of course thats for my haste rating :D

Any gear substitution ideas would be awsome

Mobs simply dont last long enough? You just did 11 spells....
Put up CoE, just dont use Curruption unless moving. Maybe don't put up CoE on trash, but put it up on bosses. Unless you have an unholy dk or Boomkin that is, then use CoD

WOW i just looked at your gear... I would be surprised if you pull 2k to be honest... Don't worry about it, just keep grinding heroics and change your spec to include 3/3 suppression. This will up your dps by heaps, but not to much considering you have less spell power then i did at 70 haha

However im not sure which t8 to get first. I was told to go 2 t8 and 2t9 when i can afford it. My gut feeling would be to get the chest or shoulders first

As far as your rotation is concerned, always prioritize Conflags first, meaning you want to get off as many as possible in a fight. This also means your immo up time should be pretty high. On another note, it's OK to cast Corruption because of the GCD that conflag has; that second that you're standing there you could be casting an instant spell. That's just my opinion though. If you want to take advantage of the Life Tap glyph, then doesn't it make sense to life tap before you start your intro rotation? Just things to think about! AND -- btw -- should probably gem/enchant those purples ;) That will help tremendously.

As for your hit, it should be fine for running heroics. Before you start raids though you'll need to get to 17% (3% from Suppression, so you will need 368 hit (14%) to be capped unless your guild has a Shadow Priest or Boomkin that raids regularly, in which case you need only 289 hit (11%)).

As for your gear, it looks like you are running ToC5 so just keep that up. Try to farm the regular if you can for all the drops from therre and then run the heroic each day, once you have all the gear from ToC5 Heroic and Reg you should have a pretty nice set to start raiding in. Also, save up some Emblems of Conquest to trade down to Emblems of Heroism for the Sundial of the Exile. That Tears of the Vanquished trinket is all kinds of useless for 'locks.

Besides that just work on getting more comfortable with your rotation and try to keep improving both at raid awareness and execution and you should be off on the right foot. Good luck!
