So whats I am looking forward to in patch 2.4
2.3 is here, great now I need to go get all my addons updated /sigh
But whats there to look forward to in next patch, well I am a hard core Sin'dorei loving lore man, Elves, especially those associated with magic just draw my attention, and am looking forward to when we can go see the sunwell. Love to see whats happened to it after arthas crashed the party there, I am really hoping to see some legendary stuff from Anduin Sunstrider(spelling) Kael'thas father. Its also going to be great to find out more about the wretched also, are they really going to be all BE in the future? Or did they not listen to their elders, and instead of controlling there thirst they embraced it. Its interesting as its a sub species of elves, that were no influenced by a third power, we no the High borne who embraced the burning legion in the war of the ancients, become satyrs, we also know the naga were the surviving high borne that who sided with azshara and embraced the old god neptulon the tide hunter. Yet this new sub tree seems to have some unknown trigger for the sindorei to turn into the wretched? How many alliance are looking forward to raid Silvermoon? |

It's funny, because I pay no attention to the lore, what so ever.

Re: So whats I am looking forward to in patch 2.4
Kael'Thas has been using Fel energy gathered from the mana forges in outland to power the Blood Elves cities and their magical addictions. Little known to them in fact though is that Kael'Thas has ALSO been using this energy (or the leaveovers) to summon Kil'Jaeden to Azeroth using the Sunwell (much like the well of Eternity before hand). Whether the Blood Elves ever discover this fact or remain slightly oblivious to it is a matter of debate I'm sure Metzen will pee all over somehow with a stupid Deus Ex Machina idea. After having played the original Warcraft games (1-3) I can tell you that Kil'Jaeden is a force to be reckoned with to be sure and the patch name should be 'Something wicked this way comes' It's kind of interesting that Kil'Jaeden is finally making a power-play on Azeroth himself usually he sends the legion's minions to do these things like in WC2-3 Kil'Jaeden never joins the field of battle himself.
Maybe, just MAYBE the summoning of Kil'Jaeden is what enrages Arthas and so he begins whatever "plans" he sets into motion for Wrath of the Lich King? |

Never really followed lore either, not because it doesn't interest me, just never did. Is there an abridged version of the lore someone could link or post like above, from the beginning? I'm definitely curious now

Re: So whats I am looking forward to in patch 2.4
Every now and then I type in a NPC's name into wowwiki.com just to see if there is any interesting backstory to him. I can spend hours just clicking the links in wowwiki.com. I love it as well when I find out why something is the way it is.
I still play WC3 and getting the link between people in that game and WoW is always enjoyable. I have to say that I'm really interested in the whole Scarlet Crusade/ Argent Dawn history. Looks like there will be a lot of additional info coming in Wrath of the Lich King, including the Ashbringer and Tirion Fording |

If your interested in learning more about the Lore of Warcraft, I suggest blizzards very own Community Site.
Its about as abridged as your going to get. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/story/index.html |

Re: So whats I am looking forward to in patch 2.4
I ignored the lore for about the first year. The second year I got pretty into it and it has made the game 100% more satisfying. The ongoing story arcs and how they relate to zones/quests are very well done.
It finally makes sense why there is a pissed off Elemental lord in the basement of Black Rock Mountain while there is a pissed off son of Deathwing in the attic. As an aside: both Christie Golden books - 'Lord of the Clans' and 'Rise of the Horde' are well worth reading stand-alone books that explain a ton of backstory. e.g. Why do Azeroth orcs have green skin and Mag'har orcs have brown? Is Hakkar a soul-flayer or a hound master?! ![]() |
