Re: Good Bye

Well im not even 70, and i really don't know Neej very well, but im really with him.
On the other side, Akasha isn't that wrong, but we must keep in mind, People have Diferents Talents on 40/0/21 and have diferent Gear. We can't find a post with the same gear and same Talent Build on search, that's why help is really welcome here.
Thats the fist part.

Now, we could be more interested in testing things first.
"What about 5 points supression over 5 points fel concentration?". I had that question, and just tested, and , voilá. Its really better to grind 5 points felconcentration than 5 points supression.
Why can't we just test things 2/3 times and then come here with some Questions AND some Answers/Points of View?

"ive tested 40/0/21 and realized that...(bla bla bla) , in other hand, 21/0/40 gave me some really good points on.. (bla bla bla).
Can you guys share your thoughts with me?"

Simple. have some Smart Posts, with some info to share to... we cant be simbiotes.
We can't just ignore questions, thats really bad.

About "blizzard wants to destroy locks" threads....
Let's take some point.

1st. Blizzard is one of the best game producers from all time.
2nd. Its a game. BALANCE about class must be really focused.
3rd. Think about other classes that simply get owned by locks. They must be really sad.
4th. Game's name is "World of Warcraft" not "Lockcraft/Warlocraft". Think about it.

We're still be one of the best classes of the game.
2x2 arena sucks now? try 3x3/5x5 it must be really diferent, and classes really must be less "must be OP"
I really never tryed arena, but i have my theory.

Sure thing, this is a Forum. Why simple shut up our mouths? keep in mind the first part of my post and we can really absorve more info than just give infos.
And obviously Akasha CAN shut us up.. but.. we'll just lose things.

Well, thx for reading. im not an ENG native, but i've done my best, hope you understand.

And Neej. Don't simple run out. Let's try make this pub a nice place.

Thanks again.

Just touching on this part. I don't expect everyone to find another thread discussing their exact problem. But you will find one or more that is close to what you're asking... so reply to that thread. Everyone seems to be wanting to have their very own thread dedicated to them. That's what's cluttering up the forums.

At the moment we have (as an example) 1000 threads on roughly the same topic, all with 2, 3 or 10 replies. I'd must rather see 100 threads with 100 replies.

The more threads you have also clutters up the search feature, making it harder for people to find things.

This is one part I see a lot of people seem to be getting stuck on. 0ni, not directed at you specifically here, but let me try and help people see it properly. I'm not saying no more posts can be made, no more questions can be asked. I'm saying that CERTAIN questions and threads which are CONSTANTLY being repeated are to stop.

I mean seriously... some one tell me how many "is my build ok?" threads should we have? How many should be posted each day? 1? 10? 100?

Re: Good Bye

Akasha,
again pls let me say this to you in a direct manner - and hopefully not being misunderstood.
My feeling is not that the major issue around is 'look at my build' but rather "OMG they removed the life tap nerf" etc etc
Myself, I am not in the position of giving any type of suggestions on builds - so any new post I see, I read it. Over time, I may get fed up - but I will just stop reading.
On all other info (something on 'early' gear / kara setups and more 'junior' things) I am happy to contribute.
I see your point in trying to give discipline to posters, but I suggest we rather put stickies on top of the forum with links to FAQ rather than getting upset on things which are not a major issue.

My two cents again.

Re: Good Bye

Otelma, one thing to remember, and this goes to everyone - it's not just you that reads the threads. On average we have 10,000 people hitting these forums a day. Now yes, not all of them will be members, but just because they haven't registered, doesn't make their opinion any less valid.

While you might not care if 10 rate my build threads start a day, other people (myself included) do. You might not get sick of seeing the same thing posted over and over and over again, but other people do.

Stickies are currently being put together. But, it shouldn't rely on people to make the stickies to help people. It's not hard to search. It's not hard to take 5 seconds to skim the thread titles to see if someone has asked the same thing as you. It's not up to me, or any other members to hand everything on a silver platter to people - those wanting help have to take some responsibility too.

Re: Good Bye

I assume you're upset - cause i do not see where the 'innuendo' on members comes from.
I did register (very early in my days on this website) cause I just felt this was a great forum - pls do not let flame wars/innuendos take over.

Will stop commenting, since I got misunderstood and i do not want this to be a flame war.

You know where i am in case you care about what a member of your community feels.

First of all thx for reading my opinion and argument with it.
im really bother when no one replies my threads.

Well. ok, i really understand how things shoud be. This isn't my fist Forum and your point of how things should proceed is really perfect.
So, your doing a great job by not being so rude and show the "newbies" one how they must do things.

We must be Polite, and i agree with you.

but.. Akasha, Don't you think about name some person to be Moderators here too?
Doesn't that help to clear this kind of problem and also help new members how they should proceed in this comunity?
It's just a thought. This Could help.

I think, most of our problem, is that people forget how they can contribute to progress on this Website

Thanks again Akasha

Re: Good Bye

I can understand where you're comming from Akasha.

I guess from my perspective though one of the things I like about the Den is the more chatty atmosphere. People do ask the same questions other people have asked because this is seen as a fairly safe and friendly place to do so.

Some of those people play locks all the time and some of them it is just an alt so they aren't going to research everything.

Personally, if I'm looking for order, moderators that kick out every useless post and pure theorycraft I go to elitistjerks. However, I am here way more often because although much of the information is redundant it has a more community feel and is generally just more pleasant.

Either way you do a fabulous job Akasha, and the fact that you have done so much with yourself as the only mod is simply amazing. Keep up the great work! I for one will still be checking in even if you do decide to pursue the more rigid forum structure.

Re: Good Bye

Otelma, why do you assume I am upset? I've asked my partner to read your post, because honestly I'm not following it.

0ni, I've actually had moderators in the past. Unfortunately both of them just up and left without really any warning. Also too, I feel the problem starts at the beginning. Moderators can close off threads just like I do, but it's up to the people coming in and asking the questions to do the right thing.

Problem is, people come in and want their own thread. They want to just ask the question, not to try find the answer themselves. Moderators can't stop that, they can only close the thread after it's been started. Which is the same thing I am doing.

I have no plans or desire to be like elitistkjerks. I think what they do is great mind you, but I do prefer a more open environment. That said though... I won't be the other end of the scale where everyone is free to start the same thread 100 times, post "Blizzard sucks" threads or allow people to flame each other.

What I want is a forum that provides a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, that also encourages and promotes in-depth discussions, number crunching and theorycrafting.

At the moment, this forum is almost like a place for newbies. 75% of the new threads that are being created are asking for help with their talent build, their equipment, asking everyone to tell them if they are ok for Khara, or ok for PvP etc. People aren't wanting to think for themselves and instead just want other's to tell them.

So at the moment we have 75% newbie threads, 25% proper discussions. I want to swap those around.

Re: Good Bye

Seems like I missed a party. :/

Sometimes a break is needed and warranted. I took a break from WoW/WLD for about 4-5 months over the summer. I honestly don't really see a difference from before I left to when I came back. Maybe I missed this "downhill" period when Akasha was getting her RL priorities in order, but I don't see any aftereffects.

I personally can't stand the O-boards. Seriously...how old do the..
"Best warlock names"
"Life tap nerf" (we had one or two threads here about it...O-boards has had hundreds)
"Rogues are impossible."
topics get? The elitist attitude there gets old, so I go to EJ and here for information. Anyway, later Neej. You're obviously an intelligent guy and don't need anyone to make opinions for you. Best of luck to ya.
