.MOV Converter?
My camera lets me take mini movies, that when pulled over to my computer end in MOV. I want to post them on my blog, however they're too big in size so I need to compress them, or convert them to a smaller type.
I've searched high and low for a movie converter (free, or at least free trial) that works, doesn't wreck the quality or the movie or leave a watermark smack back in the bloomin center of it. So far no luck, and I'm really not liking installing and uninstalling 50 different attempts. Does anyone know of something that can help me? Doesn't need to be anything super fantastic, just allow me to be able to share my little movies with the family and friends... |

Re: .MOV Converter?
Mh, quite difficult.
.MOV is the quicktime format, so if you do not own an adobe premiere, try something like this one (never tried that program, just FYI). As we receive MOVs at our office, they are the hardest to convert to "other" formats through their high compression. I would suggest to convert your "raw" files to any DIVX or similar (small in size, almost every player can handle it, usable over internet). We searched a lot for any good MOV converter, but in the end stuck to Adobe Premiere. If you "just" want to share your videos among a few amount of people (read: family), I would suggest burning them to a DVD-format, so anybody who owns a DVD player can play your discs (so no PC needed). You can also try "DVDx" (needs some codecs installed) or "DVDShrink" (some codecs needed, too) to make them fit on one DVD. I won't drop any links here, because some of those sites look kind of "cheesy".... "DVDx" was tested here as well as "DVDShrink". If you have a linux machine at hand: some tools are much more effective in terms of format exchange ;) |

Re: .MOV Converter?
I'll have a look at that Snacker, thanks. DVD is an option, but no matter how many times I pass it to my screen, my blog just won't take it.
![]() They're only little 45 second movie files - Savannah starting to walk, etc - who knew they'd be SO hard to share! ![]() |

Re: .MOV Converter?
RAD Video Tools can help you convert the file to an AVI. Then you can do whatever you want with it with numerous programs including the Windows Movie Maker that comes preinstalled on a lot of windows machines.
Convert MOV to AVI There's a tutorial on it. You'll need to have Apple Quicktime installed, I believe the free version of Quicktime will work just fine. |
