03 Mach 1 or 05 Civic Ex?

Im currently driving an automatic civic but find myself bored driving it. Its a wonderful car with a nice sound system but its incredibly boring to drive.

The Mach 1 is of course manual and i drove down last weekend to check it out. I brought along a great friend of mine who happens to be a certified mechanic. He looked at the car and said it was in perfect condition.

The Mustang would also cause my insurance to drop a great deal. Im currently paying 280 a month for the civic and i called up my provider and my new monthly rate driving the Mach would be 220.

The rates are so high because im 17 and have been driving for just about two years, i turn 18 in about a month.

Now, any thoughts on the matter? i can get the mustang free and clear on the trade in as i own the civic and i would walk away with a new car and some left over money, and i would be saving on the insurance. so its wins all around, except for the gas mileage....but i think its worth it.

any thoughts?

Oddly enough, while i wrote this im taking a safe driving class online for a ticket i got in my civic, go figure. with 300 more HP i should give the cops a show though.

Excellant. My brother owns two mustangs so thats instant honored. I learned to drive manual on a GT500 so that must be some rep, and all i look at is fords for my replacement car, so again that must count for something.....exalted pl0x? /beg

Go for the Mach 1. It's much more uncommon and interesting a car than a Civic. Plus you will save money . . . you have a lot of years ahead of you to get cool cars.

I learned to drive in a 1961 Apache 10 Chevy pickup (Three on the tree) it required no rep whatsoever.

Driving should be fun, get the Mustang if that's what you want. Of all the cars/trucks I have owned over the years I've never regretted the ones I have bought, only the ones I didn't get or sold. Maltyrius is right, you have a lot of cars ahead of you so enjoy them.

I love honda civics. I want a new one, preferably a Civic Si.

Is it a coupe or sedan?

Not to mention, Hondas will outlive you. They are practically indestructable. The same cannot be said for my 2001 Cavalier . Hey, at least it gets 35mpg.
