Awww well...
You may have noticed that I have been sticking to the General and Off-topic boards recently, well...
I regret to inform all you good-hearted people that - to your dismay, that is, if anyone cares ;) - I undoubtedly will not be participating in World of Warcraft at all. It is not a question of a decision, like some people who had times where they just didnt want to stick up the money, or thought that they could stick to non-MMOs instead (*ahem* Kal, im looking your way ;) *ahem*), but rather that I cant...: I found out a couple of weeks ago that my computer model cannot handle an adaquate macintosh upgrade that would suite me or WoW at all, that is processor wise (the main problem) and disk space wise (which isnt so much the problem), RAM was fine... but ill steer away from computer references so as not to embarass myself of lose the unknowledgeable reader - no offence to anyone. Chances were looking slim before anyway, because its a hard thing to convince my parents to devote my 'pocket money', or some portion of it, to paying for a game each month, but this discovery has made it final. Some may argue that my stats may run it, or whatever... but im just not gonna go there . Sorry to be so long-winded and dramatic about it, just thought id let you know ;), and say bubye to the all prospects of a great game. If you dont particularily mind Akasha, i'd like to stick around and follow WoWs progress, as well as keep up with you guys (and gals) ... I hope im not too much of a burden! Thanks for your attention  :( Oh well. |

What parents dont know, wont hurt them . Cant argue about whether your mac will run it or not since you dont wanna go there :p |

Do what I did when EQ first came out and I had to somehow get my parents to let me use my "piggy-bank" money to pay for it:
Tell them that you are buying a game online, which you are. Then get one of those 6...err more like 3 month packages (since now MMOs are so expensive) which will be around the cost of a game ~$40. Show them the check out page, and the amount that you have to pay. They probabally don't know what MMO is all about anyways (if they do... Then I am out of ideas )After that, apply for a credit card yourself ASAP, there are many CC that are designed for students, and have very low credit limit (around $500). Then get a small part time job. Actually I found that doing volunteer work can really get you on your parent's good side  Heh, I am not joking either... Our culture is very biased against games and any "childish" activities... You have no idea how many times I had to sneak a game into my home when I was younger ![]() |
