I am of two minds on this one.

I'm sure everybody would love to see Arya become a dragon rider, and she would make a good one too. This would serve a few purposes regarding story telling as well. First, once Galbatorix is defeated, Arya's position among the Elves and the Vardin is compromised. I'm sure she could remain an Ambassador between the two, but given her nature within the books I don't think she would care for it that much. Second, having her also be a dragon rider would further the love story between her and Eragon.

The second thought I had, and less likely, is that the position would go to the Dwarves. This third book went into great detail on how the Dwarves passed up the opportunity to be part of the Dragon Rider pact twice, and how they were fools to do so. This would be the optimum time for the Dwarves to enter into the pact and have a Dragon rider of their own.

I'm still leading towards the Arya though.

How about Murtagh, think he'll be killed or will he break free of his oaths? Or will it be him breaking free only to get killed by Galbatorix?
Also, whats up with Angelia the Herbalist? That moment where we met her Master and her reaction was a little funny. Or the creepy child Eva, what roll do you think she'll play in this story?

The last Egg/rider..... Gosh I really hope that its Aryana(sp) sorry I know that i have the book next to me but im lazy atm its way to early.

I am truely lost when it comes to the prophesy though I just cant fathom wear the Rock is nor what name it would be either Eragon/true name. The only thing that I can think of is that It will be the Soul or the Origanal Eragons dragon.

i am quite inclined toward the dwarven idea. For a long time a believed that roran would become one, though i have doubted this since the 3rd book, and i now believe him to become king/some significant position after the fall of galbatorix.

So Dwarven riders? hmm sounds like a good idea.
Although as you have said the eragon/arya love storyline would be very fitting.

i honestly hadnt thought about ayra as the rider.

Yeah, Orik would have made a good Dragon rider even though he complained about flying. I'm sure he'd have gotten over it. Him being Eragon's clan brother would help things I'm sure, but the fact that he is King makes him less of a candidate in mine eyes.


I hadn't even considered Roran, but even as I do now, he seems like less of a candidate. His character seems to balance out the "out there" magic/fantasy aspect Eragon represents by providing a very grounded human aspect to the books. Making him a dragon rider would undermine that in my opinion.

What color do you think that dragon will be? White? Another Gold? Perhaps a Green?
