Re: I had a thought today...

You are doing really well with this site and as wowmb (WoW Message Board?) is even a neutral URL, I see nothing holding you back. You just need *very* professional moderators. About 5-6 at least.
This will be full-time work for you and a couple of co-mods after a while if you are succesful. Not too bad... :-)

Re: I had a thought today...

Hrm... you all aren't helping to squash the idea LOL.

To me, when I think of "DPS" classes, I think Warlock - Mage - Hunter. They are the raw DPS classes I would think of if needing some for a group. DK's DPS I've got no idea about at the moment, and Druids I consider more a 'Hybrid' class.

So, if I was going to do it, those are the three classes I would aim for, at least to begin with, see if DK's ended up here too. With that in mind, I know there are no Mage forums out there specifically for them like we have here, so I'm sure they'd appreciate it. And I just looked across the known Hunter ones (WoW Hunter, TKA Something and BRK) and combined, they had less than 100 users. So perhaps Hunter's are lacking something like this too? Or the other's don't provide what they need? Either way, it's possible that we could lure them here.

Nothing about the atmopshere of the site would change, either. We'd be us, just with other classes. I'm going to start a poll to see how members feel before I think about this too much more. No point in it if 90% of the members scream no...

Re: I had a thought today...

I can't see it as a bad idea. I would segregate certain sections of the forum so that individual class discusssion is easier to find, but for the most part things can all stay in tact. I know that as a raid leader, more knowledge of any class is a good thing, as is different perspective on things like arena and boss encounters. And, if it bring more people in to the forum, thats for everyone's benefit.

I think this place can and should grow as much as you want it to, and I think the vast majority would be on-board with opening our little corner of the internet up to others.

Re: I had a thought today...

Official poll now up: How do you feel about expanding the site to other DPS classes?

Please vote, especially if you feel strongly about not changing, because I am a weeee bit more leaning towards expanding that not. Only a wee bit.

What about rogue love?? Rogues are also a Main DPS class, since that's all they can even do in the first place!! with a side of CC ability rarely used in 25 mans.
