Re: Any Twitterers?
Thought I would update this thread quickly. The Warlocks Den twitter will go over to the new owners shortly, but for those who want to follow my dribble about anything and everything, or would just like to keep in touch and be able to chat to me, I have a new twitter account: Velcro Monkey (Velcro_Monkey) on Twitter

Re: Any Twitterers?
Personally, I think a great new Warlock pet would be the terribly evil, and devilishly frightening "Velcro Monkey". I don't Twit, or Tweat, Tweet, or Twittle, or even Twootle, or whatever its called. I have trouble following along with twitters I read, for example: @doomKitty, @DoodleStraw, I'm eating an apple, @FredNTall, Did you like it? Sure, first comment is to those two people at the start (why we need an @ I dunno) and the last comment is to the third person. But the problem is, Where do you go to find out if FredNTall liked it? Or even what it is? And thats just a light example, I've seen far far far worse. /puzzled

Re: Any Twitterers?
The @ in front of a name will link to that user. I'm new to Twitter myself so I'm not certain, but I believe there will be some clear indication made to that user that he or she has been replied to. I will agree though that Twitter needs a good way to see a threaded view of conversation. There's also no clear way to reply to a tweet which is not a user's most recent one. |

No, I dont need to know when someone woke up. No I dont need to know what you're having for dinner. No, I dont care about where you're going this weekend. Its funny because people are always complaining about governments invading their privacy and keeping tabs on too much information, but hey, now we have twitter and those same complainers step right up to the plate and tell every insignificant detail of their lives to the world. Hooray for useless information! p.s. regardless of what Im spouting I understand that the more things search engines have access to to find information the more people could potentialy come to a site. but the idea that twitter=$ is just insane. |

Re: Any Twitterers?
froshaka, the Den Twitter account was/is used mostly to promote threads on the site, chat about WoW and Warlock related matters and the like. Never have I used it to tell people what I'm having for dinner, or anything else personal. Even my Velcro_Monkey account won't be used for that. Twitter is a, basically, another form of IM. Pern - the @ symbol is who you direct it to, and also allows that person to know you're talking to them. If you tweeted just velcro_monkey, I wouldn't know. But you tweet @velcro_monkey, it shows up on my screen so I know you're talking to me. How to find out if FredNTall liked the apple, just click on his name and it will open his profile and you can see all his tweets. Or, just follow everyone involved and you can see it all. I've never tweeted about an apple. I use twitter mostly to chat to people, which is great because I now know people I never knew before. And I use it to let everyone know when I've updated my blog, or to ask a question, answer someone else's question etc. Twitter = $$? Yeah I don't know about that. I do get a lot more visitors to my blog from twitter, so I like that. But as for $? Who knows... Quote:

Re: Any Twitterers?
I enjoy twitter for posting the occasional random comment and communicating with people I don't see on a regular basis. Here is my account.
