Re: Warcraft Snacks... Add a Recipe; Take a Recipe.

Thought I'd add a real recipe. Not exactly finger food, but still easy enough to eat and great on a hot summer day, and childishly easy to make.

Avocado Pie
2-3 Ripe avocados (depends on size, add more to taste if you feel it could use it)
1/3 Cup lime juice
1 Can sweetened condensed milk
1 Graham pie crust (made or bought)

Mix up the first 3 ingredients and then pour into pie crust. Throw it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to firm up. That's it.

...and another one
Greek...cheese...triangle....things...
(these are all just approximate measurements, I just add stuff till it looks right)
1 (or maybe two depending on how much you make) Box puff pastry
1 Package frozen spinach (thawed)
1 Cup feta cheese
1/2 to 1 Small onion (diced)
2 Tbsp parsley
A few dashes of pepper
3 Eggs

Mix spinach, cheese, onion, parsley, pepper and 2 eggs together. Roll out thawed pastry nice and thin and then cut into squares, say about 4"s. Beat the remaining egg with about 1 Tbsp water. Put a spoonful of spinach mixture into the centre of each pastry square and brush the edges with egg/water mixture, fold in half to make a triangle and press the edges with a fork to seal. Bake 15-20 min. at about 400 degrees. As an alternate, or for a bit of variety, saute up some mushrooms, onions and parsley and use that instead of spinach/feta.

Back on the beer topic, I got quite a taste for wheat beers when I was in Germany, though there was no fruit to be seen. Sitting in a park with a litre of beer is a great way to spend an afternoon. Haven't found any here in Canada that are nearly as good though.

In miniature bite sized form, and without the filo cos it's more of a hassle than puff pastry

i dont know about the avocado pie, but the Greek cheesy things i would try.

as for the beer i like Michelob's wheat beers, especially the dunkelweiss (think i spelled that right) the first time i drank a wheat beer i poured it out because i saw the junk floating in it. i thought it was contaminated. what a noob eh? lol. after i found out it was unfiltered i tried it again and i have to say wheat beers are the way to go.
