iPhone users - beware the 3.1 update
I tried updating to 3.1 last night on my iphone 3G and it bricked my phone. I tried restoring but that didn't work and now I can't use my iphone at all. I searched all over the forums and apples resolution page and tried everything they suggested except for trying the update/restore on another computer (cuz i don't have access to one), and nothing worked. For those of you who have iphones and haven't gotten this update yet, you may want to think twice about doing it for awhile. If you've already updated and it worked fine, I'd say you got lucky. I've never altered my phone in anyway (no jailbreaking or anything like that), this was just a poorly tested patch imo. I have to go to the Apple store today (closest one is an hour drive for me) to have them fix/replace my phone. Thankfully I'm still under original warranty so its at no cost to me other than time and gas. Just wanted to put this up to make others aware of the issue, a lot of people are having this problem. |
