Dungeon Set3, T4, T5 what do you think?

I was wandering what everyone thought about the new Dungeon Set and the T4 and T5 set bonuses? I dont really care much for the Dungeon Set bonus as when do you really use Seed of Corruption that much... the T4 set is pretty good I like it better than the T5 set bonus which I think is almost worthless as my pet(imp) does ever get hurt in raids and I dont and shouldn't usually get heals and then my SB's and Incinerates increase my corr and immolate. I dont usually cast SB's unless NF procs and never cast Incinerate so this set bonus is almost useless to me... Im thinking of just keeping my frozen shadow weave set and T4 till everyone else that needs the drops for their T5 gets them and then maybe getting my T5, am I wrong in my thinking? All comments and opinions are welcome thanks

Oh also I am an affliction spec lock as per why I dont cast SB's unless NF proc's(life draining) and dont ever cast incinerate. Thanks again and awesome site you have hear Akasha

I don't understand why you don't cast shadowbolts in an affliction spec...

I'm 42/0/19, and I dot (corruption, immo, ua, siphon, Curse of Agony) and then shadowbolt until I have to reapply. Imp Shadowbolt debuff on a mob is invaluable to your dots ticking.

I dont cast Shadowbolt after applying my dots because I dont have Imp Shadowbolt for one and I drain to try and get my NF to procm, stay mana effectient with LT/draining and am on CC duty alot more now... also I dont like the cast time on it lol

Any way what do you think of the Set bonuses, its what the thread is manly about

Re: Dungeon Set3, T4, T5 what do you think?

set bonuses on tier 4 are definitely better, imo. The only problem in your case is that I've heard the 2 piece bonus only procs off DD spells, so you're not going to see any with just dotting and using drain life. Whether or not this is a bug, I'm not sure. I just got my first piece last night, hopefully I can get the 2 piece soon and confirm. 4 piece is just awesome, increases mana efficiency on corruption by ~17% and immolate by 20%. Less dot reapplying means more time for shadowbolts too :D

The tier 5 4 piece bonus seems really week, unless it's a stacking buff (up to 5 or something). The 2 piece bonus...well...I dunno what's up with that, unless there are going to be more encounters where warlock pet tanks are necessary, but the warlock is taking damage too.

What do you think of the frozen shadow weave set? Im thinking of using that set over my dungeon set and probably use it till i get 4 pieces of my T4 set for that bonus. They really need to give T5 a better bonus...

You'll have to let me know what you find out and if it does just proc off DD spells i do cast Shadowbolts when NF procs which is usually often with me draining

Re: Dungeon Set3, T4, T5 what do you think?

The T5 bonus is really awesome, though I of course probably will never get it, as I don't raid much. It's easy to get heals on your warlock, but harder to get them on your pet. I think it's cool.

Anyway, I also like the Oblivion set pet bonus: It's great for both Demonology locks (for obvious reasons) and Affliction locks (Dark Pact).

But what I'm going for is the Frozen Shadoweave. Not only can it be soloed, but it's got one of the neatest set bonuses.

Re: Dungeon Set3, T4, T5 what do you think?

If I was a tailor I would definitely be going for my shadoweave. The +dam for the amount of pieces worn is great. The healing is just a small bonus. I have two pieces of the oblivion. For my DP/Ruin it is terrific. Long boss fights I can usually tap out the imp 2-3 times. I will probably get try for the rest of the pieces for the stam and int. The 2 piece proc on the T4 looks really nice. Its a free trinket. Plus the T4 has that nice swirling shadow background. The look of the entire set just screams Evil Warlock. Tier 5 is kinda, ehh. The 2 piece bonus is under powered IMHO. The 4 piece bonus looks crazy for long boss fights depending on if it stacks. If not then bleh. It also looks great.

Re: Dungeon Set3, T4, T5 what do you think?

I intend to keep 4 pieces of my dungeon set with me whenever instancing/raiding. The bonuses might not be the most useful in the world, but there are situations that I'd be happy to take a hit on stats for them. Say we know an AoE heavy bit is ahead- I'll throw on 4 pieces, or I'm going to have a target re-seduced many times- I'll throw on 2 pieces so my little devil girl has enough mana for that last seduce. I loved having the 2-piece bonus with my imp and dark pact when I had my spillover in demo- I barely ever had to life tap.

The first time I spent any real time observing the tier gear is when I first went to Shat city like a day after BC came out. I honestly had to look up which set was supposed to be t5, since they both seemed so equal. I have a feeling I won't be trading in my frozen shadoweave any time too soon. It almost seems like they made t4/t5 with the different specs in mind, rather than one being any better than the other. As a heavy affliction build to the end, it's probably going to end up being the voidheart hands, crown, and legs matched with my frozen shadoweave set till at least we see t6.

As for the usefulness of the 2-piece bonus on the corruptor gear- it is not entirely useless, even for a non-demo... non-soloing.... lock. Us locks have this magnificient spell called Enslave Demon, which the fine folks at Blizzard saw fit to allow us to use in raids (at least as far as I've been), and even seemingly put in encounters where you'd need said spell. I've been on enslave detail for Gruul's lair for the guild's past few attempts, and would be extremely happy to have that 2-piece bonus for the encounter. It just so happens that the part we're getting stuck on is keeping the enslaved demon alive long enough. However, if I could be DPSing Blindeye the Seer with Siphon Life, Drain Life, and that [somewhat insignificant] frozen shadoweave bonus, we'd be able to both get down Blindeye faster and have an easier time keeping the pet alive. It seems like another situational set bonus that's be worth carrying around.
