Which Ring

i have 5 blue rings. this is stupid.

which should i keep for PVP and which for PVE.

how does spell penetration work, and is it a pve or pvp thing ?

The cenarion band of casting has nice stats but least damage ( +18)
The high damage rings (+28 approx) have varying other stats which are confusing me.

i am guessing that for PVE, Khorium Band and Manastorm band, and PVP Guardian and dominion for crit, although as demo spec, i probably shouldnt worry about critt too much.

Personaly I keep the items with the highest stam(always first)/crit or penetration for PvP, +damage and int for PvE

I think there was a post about Spell Penetration but I cant find it. Basically it lowers the targets resistance to you spells. So say a warrior has +20 shadow resist and you have +20 spell penetration, which will drop his resist to shadow to 0 for you and you only. And no you can not have -resistances, they got rid of that a few patches ago.

I didn't even look for that link, I just typed it in and boom it's right there for ya.

As for the rings; it depends on your spec and preference.

Personally, I'd never wear a ring with no +stam that only has int and dam/crit. I'd be even less likely to wear a ring with no stats at all.

That narrows my personal choices on the matter down to 2. Easy-peasy.

I use the same rules for rings as I do for other gear, but I never PvP. just PvE.

I got the Arcane Nether band from Botanica awhile back, and I found it to be a nice upgrade:

Arcane Netherband
Binds when picked up
Unique
Finger+18
Stamina+18 Intellect
Requires Level 70
Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 21.Equip: Increases your spell penetration by 15.

If you're currently using the Band of the Guardian as your only spell penetration, this is a good upgrade, since it's just about everything the previous ring had and more. For me, with Demonic Knowledge the extra stats easily make up for the 2 less damage.

I'd also consider looking at ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28247 ) from the pvp honor reward. That's what I'm going to be using to upgrade my last green when I get around to it...pairing it with a Khorium Band of Shadows.
