Boots

So where are the good boots.

I have been wearing Shattrath Jumpers for some time know. Nothing out there seems to come close in +damage. There seems to be not much for Aff-locks. There's the maiden boots which are the same plus crit which i don't need. Blasphemy has the stam but 10 less damage. What gives? The reason I ask is b/c I am thinking of upgrading the gems in what I have now. Does anyone recommend some footwear for a afflock who's about halfway through kara? Is there somehing I am not considering?

note: i include 2 red gems when i say the jumpers have more damage.

Re: Boots

Well, you don't see a lot of debate on this because Blizzard seems to want all warlocks to be tailors... and generally Shadoweave tailors. The boots you get from the Frozen Shadoweave set blow just about everything else currently available from pre and early raiding out of the water.

Re: Boots

Stick with the Shattrath Jumpers...they're the best you'll see (well non tailoring) until SSC. Boots of Fortelling are ok (the boots of Maiden), but for an Afflock really it's only a very slight upgrade over Shattrath Jumpers that it's really not even worth it to spend the DKP on. SSC are where the caster boots are at apparently.

Re: Boots

I blame affliction's screwy stat values for why there's no upgrades :P

But yeah, as Canadianpimp said, just enjoy the fact that you don't have to resocket and reenchant until SSC.

Re: Boots

I thought the Abyss Walker boots are pretty good if you have not got Shattrath Jumpers.

I still have not got my Shattrath Jumpers as I have not been able to go pass the 3rd boss of Shadow Laby yet... :(

Re: Boots

Got curous in Allakhazam, there are some items listed that are purple that have nice +damage from dungeon static drops:
Velvet Boots of the Guardian (+49 spell damage)
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht...ve;witem=30067
Boots of The Shifting Nightmare (+59 Shadow damage)
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht...ve;witem=30050

The PvP dreadweave boots are +32

And if you are throwing all stats out the window, you could keep your eyes open for level 70 "... of shadow wrath" @ +60 shadow

Re: Boots

OK, guess I wasn't too far off the mark. There's just no way I have the time and resources to level tailoring, despite the set. I'd never have time to raid. So screw it, I'm buying blue gems for my quest item. The mage will at least be happy when the maiden boots drops and I don't roll.

Although I may keep an eye out for a green, thats not a bad idea since there are no other spell stats on the jumpers.

Thanks

Re: Boots

We dont actually use any DKP in kara now, that's rather nice. we only use it gruul and onwards. i am pretty damn happy that i decided to power level tailoring. There really does seem to be a lack of boots in The Burning Crusade.

I'm confused by this statement. You don't have time to raid but you'll be doing Maiden in Kara?

If you can't raid at all then Tailoring is your best option despite the cost, because you can work on it at your own leisure. If you mean that you can't raid much and will never see inside SSC, then Tailoring is still your best option.

You have to ask yourself, "What do I want to do with my Lock?" If you run out of stuff to work on, then you're eventually going to get bored and either stop playing WoW or roll an alt. Raiding is the ultimate way to prolong your character. If that's not an option Tailoring gives you something to work on for at least a little while. Everybody I know who can't raid ends up doing PvP, which means you should be looking for boots with more stam and resilience.

He's saying he wouldn't have time to raid if he leveled tailoring.
