FSW vs T4
There is a guy in the guild saying that t4 gloves and shoulders are better than any craftables and heroic badge hand ins
he does spend a lot of time looking into stuff but I always thought that FSW stuff would last me through to t5. What are the opinions on this? |

Re: FSW vs T4
Voidheart Mantle and Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders are about equal in stats when compared individually. However, if you use the Voidheart Gloves, the set bonus makes the T4 shoulders better than FSW shoulders. The set bonus for FSW isn't really useful for raiding, so you don't lose anything by switching.
The new badge turn-in gloves are individually better than T4 gloves, but when the T4 2-piece is factored in, Voidheart are better. |

Re: FSW vs T4
Well I don't really how FSW is any better then tier 4, if its set bonuses you talking about well the 2 piece is not something to overlook, also considers the stats together with all peices.
I am just saying FSW is a good supplementary for those who are tailors, but given the chance I would exchange my FSW for Tier 4 |

Re: FSW vs T4
I have FSW and Handwraps of Flowing Thought. Replacing these with T4 would cause the following changes after factoring in my typical socketing:
+9 Stam +13 Int -19 Spell Damage -10 Spell Hit +22 Spell Crit So I gain a little stam, int and crit, which don't do much for me as affliction. However I lose some spell damage and hit, which are pretty important to me. No it's not a ton of damage and hit, but considering how far we go out of our way for enchants and socketing on our gear I think it's significant enough to take notice. If you feel that the set bonus is worth that trade off then go for it. I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to get it or going to roll against someone else who really needs the T4. On a side note, I like the idea that Blizz had with the FSW bonus, but the amount of healing it does really just isn't very significant. On the other hand take a look at the set bonus for the Spellfire set: Increases spell damage by 7% of your total intellect. For me that would be about 25 extra spell damage. I'd much rather have something like that. Healing me for 2% of the damage I deal will add up to 2k HP in a boss fight where I do 100k damage, and that's not nearly enough to keep up with the amount of lifetapping I'd probably need to do. And if you're thinking about farming you probably won't even notice the healing. |

Re: FSW vs T4
The Tier 4 2-piece averages out to about 30-35 spell damage.
Handwraps of Flowing Thought are really good. If you have those, it's just a sidegrade to switch to Tier 4 shoulders/gloves. Last edited by doogless; November 20, 2007 at 08:47 AM.. |
