Just a question or two...
Since the greater part of you guys have done the quest, where did you get your Large Brilliant Shards for the dreadsteed quest? I'm tailoring/enchanting but nothing i can make produces the required shard and they run about 10g each on my server. Unfortunately, i don't want to spend the money to buy the remaining 4 shards, due to my tight budget, and thottbot is not very helpful for once
. So did you guys buy them, farm them, or have guildies get them for you? p.s. what is a good tip for an alch to make me an arcanite bar with my mats? nobody in my guild had an idea... i don't want to undertip but i don't want to break the bank on it... |

Re: Just a question or two...
You should often, if not always, get large brilliant shards from disenchanting level 51-60 blue items. I got most of mine from drops in Scholo, Strat, BRD, lucky drops farming Timbermaw rep, etc.
I leveled an alchemist alt to 300 for things like this, so don't know on the tip question. I would think 1-3g at this point in the game would be more than enough, though. |

1-3g is plenty for an Arcanite bar I would say. As for the shards, I bought 'em I'm sad to say, I just didn't want to grind more crap for the DEs.

Re: Just a question or two...
I figured as much for the arcanite bar, i was planning on going with 2g anyway, but the brilliant shards im still at a sortof loss... I heard that wicked leather headbands can de into them and a lw in my guild would make me a bunch for almost nothing, so i might go with that depending on ah or if i get a brd/scholo/lbrs offer... Does anybody else have any leads or should i go with this?

Re: Just a question or two...
I would go for disenchanting wicked leather headbands because they have the lowest price to brilliant shard chance ratio for any craftable item. You can make runic headbands as a tailor, but the chance to get a large brilliant shard is a bit lower, and the mats are usually more expensive. The headbands will disenchant into either Illusion Dust, Greater Eternal Essence, or sometimes a Large Brilliant Shard. Depending on your server's economy, this is actually a nice little money making scheme that will make you a tidy profit in addition to netting you your shards. Best of luck!
