Consumables guide anyone?

Does anyone know where I can find a good consumables guide for Warlocks? Ideally, something that covers all the different spell buff food as well as elixirs, flasks, oils, and potions?

What prompts the question is I just learned about Haste Potions (I know, my n00bishness is showing) and prior to today knew nothing about them. Also, because the AH doesn't let you sort by the buff food gives you, I find myself looking for what I know works (a limited list) or by highlighting just about everything to find out if it provides the buff I'm looking for (e.g. +23 spell dam, +20 Spirit). And there's a ton of food...

So after discovering Haste Potions -- and considering picking up a few for testing -- I'm worried that I am not aware of other buffing consumables.

Can anyone hook this Warlock brother up with a link?

Re: Consumables guide anyone?

Stack damage flask pure death, +damage food, brilliant (not superior) wizard oil, and mana pots. If the boss has less then 2 min to live feel free to pop destro pots for the crit and damage buff.

Re: Consumables guide anyone?

Re-opening this thread. Although similar to the thread linked above, it is a different question. As per The_Torch's email to me:

Quote:
My post was regarding knowing what consumables are available to Warlocks because I not sure I am aware of a complete list. (Actually, I know I'm not and I'm sure others aren't either.) I had already reviewed the thread he linked but it is dated and does not mention what prompted my initial post: Haste Potion. Additionally, many of the posts in the initial thread do not mention the stats / buff the specific consumables grant -- another item I'd like to explore.

On a related note, I think a "Warlocks Guide to Consumables" would make a great addition to the site if anyone wanted to give it a go!

Re: Consumables guide anyone?

Its liable to be a very short guide but personally what I tend to use are:

Flasks:

Flask of Pure Death Flask of Pure Death - Items - World of Warcraft (Fire/Shadow/Frost Spells increased by up to 80 for 2 hrs)

Flask of Supreme Power Flask of Supreme Power - Items - World of Warcraft (All spell damage increased by up to 70 for 2 hrs)

Battle Elixir's

Adept's Elixir Adept's Elixir - Items - World of Warcraft (Spell damage increased by up to 24, critical strike rating increased by 24 for one hour)

Elixir of Major Shadow Power Elixir of Major Shadow Power - Items - World of Warcraft (Shadow Spell damage increased by up to 55 for one hour)

Elixir of Major Firepower Elixir of Major Firepower - Items - World of Warcraft (Fire Spell damage increased by up to 55 for one hour)

Guardian Elixir's (In conjunction with the above)

Elixir of Draenic Wisdom Elixir of Draenic Wisdom - Items - World of Warcraft (Increased Int and Spi by 30 for one hour)

Elixir of Major Fortitude Elixir of Major Fortitude - Items - World of Warcraft (Increases maximum health by 250 and restores 10 health per 5 seconds for one hour)

Weapon Buffs

Superior Wizard Oil Superior Wizard Oil - Items - World of Warcraft (Increases spell damage by up to 42)

Food

Blackened Basilisk Blackened Basilisk - Items - World of Warcraft

Crunchy Serpent Crunchy Serpent - Items - World of Warcraft

Poached Bluefish Poached Bluefish - Items - World of Warcraft

All of the above increase spell damage by 23 for 30 minutes.

Potions

Destruction Potion Destruction Potion - Spells - World of Warcraft (Increased spell crit by 2% and spell damage by 120 for 15 seconds)

Super Mana Potion Super Mana Potion - Items - World of Warcraft (restores 1800 to 3000 mana)

Super Healing Potion Super Healing Potion - Items - World of Warcraft (restored 1500 to 2500 health)

I tend to ignore other consumables (Skullfish soup, Brilliant Wizard oil for example) for sheer +damage and generally go with Pure Death/Superior Wizard Oil/Blackened Basilisk. With reference to the haste potion, It shares a CD with the Destruction Potion and Super Mana Pots - the long story cut short is that chain-drinking super mana pots is worth about 30dps compared to 17dps for Destruction Potions and I have a feeling that Super Mana pots will out-dps Haste potions as well.

As regards the Super Mana pots, I stick 20 into a Mana Potion Injector Mana Potion Injector - Items - World of Warcraft to save bag space for shards and that applies to Super Healing pots as well.

(I had no idea the original link was so out of date - Wowhead: Makes rainy days go away. has very comprehensive lists if you have a spare 10 minutes to browse)

Re: Consumables guide anyone?

14 spell crit is vastly superior to 6 damage (bril oil vs superior) is the only correction/argument I would have with the above post other then that looks good spell damage food is definitely better then the crit food.

Re: Consumables guide anyone?

I don't know about your server, but no way on earth am I paying through the nose for Brilliant Wizard Oil - Items - World of Warcraft on my server

(2 Large Brilliant Shards can cost 50g and although its easy to farm Scholo/Strat etc its hard to convince people to spend the time doing so....and it rarely appears on the AH. My choice there isn't a matter of not knowing which ones yields higher dps but pure economics)

Elixir of Major Mageblood is another option for your guardian elixir.

Re: Consumables guide anyone?

Super Rejuvenation potions are worth mentioning, being my personal potion of choice and vastly superior to either popping a health potion or a mana potion. The mats are a little out of hand if you don't know an herbalist, but if you do an hour farming trees at skettis will get you the mats for a boatload of the things.
