Spellstrike hood vs. T4 helm?

you can check my armory but I basically I am using Spell Strike hood and
T4 shoulders. Trial Fire trousers.

Question is Spell Strike hood or T4 helm? Now just compariing them 1to1 tht Spellstrike hood is better. However, if I equipe th t4 helm then i get the 2 set bonus. I currently have no bonus with my spell strike hood .

any advice?

If the Spellstrike hood is 35dps or more better, use that. If not, go for the T4.

WoW Warlock DPS Spreadsheet

The Meta-gem is quite a decent boost on its own and the 2pc bonus procs an awful lot so it would be a hard choice for me.

As Theleb mentioned, from a pure DPS perspective, ths SS is better. The T4 bonus is awesome but what I did was farmed for the SS pants to get the infusion bonus.

Those two pieces of gear together will be hard to replace through T5 and are well worth the cost.

Re: Spellstrike hood vs. T4 helm?

Spellstrike all the way IMO. Even if you are not a tailor and don't get the bonus.

Both items are very hard to replace, even into early T6 content.

Another thing I like about them is the gem slots. The bonus is only +stam, so you can completly ignore the color slots and use whatever gems you like.

I use epic gems in my pants (as they are harder to replace than the hood) and have my hood server as my "flex" gem slots. Meaning when I get different upgrades I can simply re-gem my SS hood accordingly so I maintain the hit cap.

I went with the helm to round out a 4 piece bonus. Even a two is nice to have.

Re: Spellstrike hood vs. T4 helm?

The best combo I've used is spellstrike hood AND pants (trial-fire should be replaced with spellstrike) along with the T4 shoulders and chest. That will last you a good while. T4 helm's meta and base stats are pretty nice but not good enough.

I show Spellstrike trailing behind the T4 hood (without considering the set bonii for either set) by 32 dps.

Including the bonii, T4 then falls behind by 3dps if you use the head/chest compared to the Spellstrike.

That Meta gem is quite powerful for a Destruction build ;p

Re: Spellstrike hood vs. T4 helm?

You should enter your gear in Leulier's spreadsheet and see for yourself.

In my case, I have spellstrike pants and T4 gloves and helm. When I switch from T4 helm to spellstrike hood, I lose 20dps. YMMV.

Re: Spellstrike hood vs. T4 helm?

hehehe Theleb said bonii :P On topic though use the ss hood and grab the T4 gloves to fill out your bonus along with the shoulders. Personally your 5 main slots should go T4 shoulder/gloves, ss hood/pants and badge robe or sindori robe.
