Lots of badges to spare, nothing to really spend them on.

I know what you're thinking, but please hear me out. ;)

I currently have 136 badges but I really don't know what to do with them given my current level of gear and raid progression which is 4/6 SCC and 1/4 TK. You can find my armory link on the left. I use the Gearing guide religiously and I've looked through the Badge gear thread but to be honest, there's nothing available that makes a substantial improvement in my opinion. Any improvements are in my opinion only minor and certainly don't warrant the spending of 75, 100 or however many badges on the gear.

What's more, I think that 15 badges for an epic gem is too expensive when you compare it to the 300+ gold they each cost on the AH because gold is much easier to farm than Badges.

So I'm kind of at a loss as to what to spend them on if there is anything. Nether Vortexes maybe? I was giving some thought to the robes and gloves to give destruction a try but I'm not particularly excited about that playstyle especially as I'm raiding with a Felguard now and I've gemmed every slot minus 1 with +12 spell damage gems.

Perhaps if there really isn't anything else to spend badges on then just go for the gems? I dunno. What do you think?

Isn't the 150 badge scyers blade of focus even a marginal gain of DPS over your current PVP 1H??

This is the dagger I am saving up for btw.

Not really all that great an upgrade in my opinion. The badge blade is terribly itemized. Really the problem I see (and I've been dealing with it myself) is that the badge loot heavily weights two stats and has only 1 gem slot. It can make juggling around your hit cap and so forth complicated and mean that you have to regem all your gear.

SLOTs? I thought the Scyers 1H dagger has just 247 spell damage and pretty fair Stam and Int Stats. One of ther higher rated 1H's once until you get deep into T5 territory.

My blade of wizardry has 0 stats, ok damage and pretty nice proc so its going to be a huge upgrade for me.

he/she was saying the other gear in general. I do agree. It's like take this chunk of hit or chunk of crit and some damage and a socket. No real variety on it all. That weapon is seriously subpar for the badges it costs. Just kill najentus and get his if you're desperate for one. The only badge item I saw fit to waste badges on was the ring. With epic gems in it, honestly the chest from kael on heroic MgT is better for example. Most of the badge gear was /yawn for anyone in late t5 content and above.

Chest were talking weapons here? Is the 1H dagger from 1st boss in heroic MgT > 150 badge scyers blade?

Re: Lots of badges to spare, nothing to really spend them on.

I actually think the badge blade will be a slight dps loss for the OP due to the hit he will lose. Honestly there is nothing for you at the badge vendor, your gear is all better or equal. Save your badges because if you ever decide to try destro you will quickly be able to gear up with some of the crit-heavy gear. The only thing I would get is the Fetish of the Primal Gods, it's a better offhand in my opinion for a demon lock.

It was massively over stated when T6 guilds complained about "welfare" T6 equivalent loot being available for badges. It's decent T5 level but apart from the ring, there's nothing that is genuinely T6 level in terms of stats (rather than ilevel).

I use mine to buy Nether Vortex's and sell them. Good money, though maybe I should look at gems, might be able to make more that way.

Honestly if you can't spend them on anything just use them to make a bunch of runed crimson spinels and sell them in the AH

Re: Lots of badges to spare, nothing to really spend them on.

PB read me correctly. (I don't think its the first time I've been a little vague. Sorry !)

I was talking about the new badge loot in general. It gives you a massive dose of damage and either hit or crit. The gem slot you get on gloves/chest/legs doesn't really do enough to let you balance yourself out.

All that said, if you don't have to juggle much then the individual pieces are great. If you are fooling around with your hit cap then things like the H magister's chest and so forth are most likely better for you.

In the OP's case there are a lot of epic gems in that gear. I would have to say that something really major would have to come along to make me upgrade in that circumstance. Side grades aren't good enough to justify the cost in my opinion.

About the blade, yes it gives you loads of damage, stamina and intellect, but it doesn't really give a mix of damage, crit, hit, and haste. Therefore, I consider it poorly itemized for BT/Hyjal ilvl loot. The better health and mana might be good for learning fights but really it's unneccessary for someone who has been there done that and is min/maxing at a T6 level. If you arena then either the S3/4 blades blow the badge blade out of the water for pve. For that matter either main hand from za is much better.
