Amani Diving Staff

Amani Divining Staff - Item - World of Warcraft

Picked this up in ZA on a roll due to nobody needing it.

I don't see it being better than my current 1 Hand (S2 Dagger) Offhand (Fetish) combo. Does anybody use this staff for anything else? Farming maybe?

You can always stuff it with stamina gems for tanking-gear.

I had it packed with hit gems for my sr set till i got the chronicle and wub's

Honestly, your crit is a tad low anyway so the staff could be fairly useful in that aspect. The spreadsheet has your current set up being only 17 dps above the staff if you put a veiled pyrestone, great lionseye, and glowing shadowsong in it. You do need to realize that when we're told to get a certain level of crit it isn't just for us but for the raid and as it's clear you aren't raiding fire, it is a part of your job to be keeping ISB up to the best of your ability. With the staff and the gems I said, you increase raid ISB by 1% given the default set up.

Hmmm I know the crit is nice on the staff, but I don't see how it's worth losing the 15 spell hit from my dagger and 17 haste from the fetish. Raid buffed I'm at around 26-27% crit, to go with 93 haste and around 1400 damage. Is that too low crit? We usually have a least two other destro warlocks in raid, and I read that the ISB uptime has diminishing returns with more locks in the raid.

I do have the crit bracers from Alar I could swap in for the haste ones if if need more crit.

The Dagger/Fetish combo is way better than the Staff - definately stick with that.

thanks theleb. I guess the staff will just be for showing off, and maybe for tanking Illidan if we make it b4 the xpack.

Well tbh, PB has a point about crit but 17dps is 17dps...and I have no doubt your crit willl improve so I really wouldn't use it unless you fancied..erm....potentially gemming it up for PvP perhaps?

You would get exactly 15 hit with the gems I said in the red slot a veiled pyrestone and in the yellow a great lionseye. It's a small dps loss personally but you bring up the raid ISB uptime with it by 1%. I plotted this all out before I posted the other one. You would only lose some spell damage and haste. Ever since the epic gems have become readily available to everyone, the value of any piece with sockets on it has gone up a bit.

Also the default set up on the spreadsheet when you look at ISB uptime is 3 locks 2 SP. So getting the extra crit from the staff increases raid ISB uptime by about 1% with that set up.
