Mantle of nimble thought vs FSW shoulders

I Have just hit 70 and made the FSW shoulders. However I have seen the Mantle of nimble thought shoulders recipe for sale. It's not cheap, BUT is it worth investing now? I'm currently affliction and have not started raiding yet. They seem to be destruction spec, but are high on the list of goodies in the gearing your warlock guide. I have read this guide to death so please don't point me there. Any comments and advice appreciated!

Thanks
Lil

If you haven't started raiding and just made the frozen set, spend your gold on something else that will be a 'massive' upgrade like belt of blasting or something.

I'm going to get the belt of blasting as well (I've been saving my pennies) and have good friends. I just want to know about the shoulders choice.

Thanks

As long as your hit isn't hurting the mantle of nimble thought would be a bigger upgrade. It's up to you to justify the massive cost of it for a fresh 70 running affliction no less.

Haste isnt that good for you just yet but that shoulder will take you up to Wrath of the Lich King (Mantle of Nimble Thought).

If the shoulders are going to be your only +haste item for a while I wouldn't bother compared to the FSW Shoulders - such a small amount of haste isn't going to be more advantageous than the damage and sockets.

Check your exect mileage with the spreadsheet from WoW Warlock DPS Spreadsheet

Not to mention the recipe for Mantle of Nimble Thought calls for materials from Black Temple to make (Heart of Darkness)

Aye, no idea what other server economy is like but those sell for around 300-400g+ on Shadowsong.

Re: Mantle of nimble thought vs FSW shoulders

As you mentioned the Mantle of Nimble Thought is more for destruction, and if you're wearing FSW and not raiding you're probably not destro, therefore I would stick with FSW until the rest of your gear improves and you've progressed past Kara. Obviously this is just my opinion, but the FSW shoulders are really quite nice for entry level raiding as affliction.

Re: Mantle of nimble thought vs FSW shoulders

Yeah I agree with the people above.

I managed to get my pattern and hearts by waiting for a BT guild to fold then pming one of the officers. Got my hearts for 75g each and the pat for 250. That was very cheap at the time.

So if you are not in a hurry then you should be able to pick up the mats/pat cheap and time it with your transistion into destro as your gear progresses (which is where Nimble is awesome).

Ofc now we have loads of the pat and hearts in the bank lol.
