Hit Rating Issues
I dinged 80 a while back and have been running heroics and Raids for gear. I am having some issues with finding the right gear to get more hit rating. I noticed that just about everything that drops from the heroics and raids i do has very little or no hit rating on it. What am i doing wrong? If anyone could give some advice on this matter it would be great. For now i am just using alot of hit rating gems and i still have only 30 something hit rating. Also whats the cap on hit rating for locks? Thanks!

Re: Hit Rating Issues
i've looked at your armory and didn't see any HIT gems. You have just the neck, which gives you 25hit and that's all you have. Anyway, if you tend to do pve you really have to get rid of the pvp gear and gem/enchant it properly. Check out this link: What's the Hit cap Mr. Wolf? - The Warlocks Den Forums |

Re: Hit Rating Issues
I have the same problem. I have finally gotten some 25man level drops but my hit rating has taken a huge hit (no pun intended). The only thing I can think to do now is just totally gem for hit. Lots of 25man level gear have hit on them I just haven't gotten lucky with those drops. |

Re: Hit Rating Issues
if i were you, i would change the darkmoon card trinket on bosses for either the easy to get: Mark of the War Prisoner - Item - World of Warcraft or the better version: Dying Curse - Item - World of Warcraft and the first thing i noticed was the Agonal Sash - Item - World of Warcraft . You could really get the (not bad at all) Plush Sash of Guzbah - Item - World of Warcraft which already has some hit and you can put another eternal belt buckle on it to gain even more!! check those things out Also your wand.. if you really need hit then every little HIT rating is good. Check out the Wand of the San'layn - Item - World of Warcraft . Yes it has no stats AND yes it's blue, but it has hit on it! So the wand you should be looking for is the before mentioned one or (eventualy) the better version of it: Gemmed Wand of the Nerubians - Item - World of Warcraft <- i also need this one :\ Also if you would get a dagger, like for example: Blade of Dormant Memories - Item - World of Warcraft (which is fairly easy to get), you could then easily gain a few hit with the Ward of the Violet Citadel - Item - World of Warcraft which can be bought with badges! And that is quite a few HIT points, wouldn't you say?

Re: Hit Rating Issues
Good call. I just got the darkmoon trinket and was trying it out. Still not sure if it was worth it or not. No luck on the dagger yet, but of course will keep trying. Thanks for the help

Re: Hit Rating Issues
Don't worry too much about hit, just grab the best gear you can. Spell damage, haste, crit and even spirit is all good stuff. Eventually you will want 300+ hit for raids (368 is cap with a shadow priest I believe) low hit will affect you dps, but is less important than spec, rotation and knowing what you're doing (tactics etc). |

Re: Hit Rating Issues
well i wouldnt count on that too much. If you are affliction it can REALLY screw up your rotation. For example, in the middle of a fight i didn't even notice a dot or even two missed (because i was so busy doing everything right :D ), so i did really bad dps. From now on i always change trinkets so i have 330hit on Boss encounters and all goes smothly

low hit = missing spells = doesn't matter what you spec, a miss = 0 damage Knowing what you're doing = having the appropriate amount of hit needed |

Re: Hit Rating Issues
A miss is a miss. There is no rotation (anymore). The only especially critical miss is haunt which won't refresh Corruption. Try out a better dot timer (Ashleys ? I believe) lets you customize the bars. Place wear you can see it. This timer only shows your dots on the mob with time left. For hit, remember hit food (snapper extreme). Hit talents. Hit to gloves and gems. |
