No MP5 while casting
Hi everybody at the Warlocks Den  I have a question about MP5. Currently I have almost 2k spellpower on my warlock with fel armor up. Still im lacking some stats: for example hit and mp5. My current mp5 while casting is 0. Yes: 0. OOC is 184. I only dinged 80 like a few days ago so my gear needs improvement. What gear can I improve my MP5? Oh, and where is all the +hit gear hidden? :S |

Best way to improve your mp5 as a warlock is with life tap, there is also a very nice trinket from heroic violet hold for hit rating. |

Isnt it kinda tricky using life tap in a fight, since i only have 15k health (18k buffed)? Add a little aoe damage and i dont have alot of health to play with. I dont want the healers to get annoyed because the have to put renew on me :P |

Just lifetap sparingly and when at or near full health and/or you know the healer isn't really strained. Do it early, rather than waiting till you're nearly OOM, so that if you can't lifetap then you won't have to stop casting but can continue a little. Also if you do single lifetaps on low aoe damage fights, your fel armour will actually feed you back most of the health before the next tap. Lastly, affliction warlocks just lifetap after every other haunt or thereabouts (look at mana bar, if it's dropped a lot, lifetap after haunt, if it's full, continue, if it's near the end of the fight, use your judgement). However healers should heal you. A renew will cover 2 or 3 lifetaps if you do it that way, or a small heal will also do it. If a boss does light aoe, your lifetaps might just eat the overheal instead of causing more strain. Lifetap between pulls, until raiding, on a lot of boss fights you won't even need to lifetap more than once or twice. If your healer is still struggling, if they HoT you, and you're healer but the HoT has a tick or two left, lifetap. Just play it smart. |

Another important thing to remember is that you should never, ever lifetap twice in a row. Then you will be dropping your health to dangerous levels, and honestly, you should never need to.

that sounds strange, im a 80 affli warlock with a T7,5 level of gear, 17500 mana solo at a puppet with my standard rotation i am oom in 59 seconds of coarse i got quite a bit of haste and you might have some mp5 from group buffs but 3 minutes is a bit odd, you should run out faster if you are playing to the full potential with demo oder destro specs you run out of mana even faster, to maintain a healthy mana pool you shoud lifetap every 20 seconds or so |

27k health raid buffed with 22k mana, lifetapping twice isn't really a problem. also, please don't start picking up pieces with mp5 on them, i want to do grievous bodily harm when i see a warlock win an Mp5 piece over a healer, it may be purple, but that doesn't mean its automatically an upgrade for you. the only mp5 ii have is the socket bonus on my helm |
