Destro PVE locks: Stats, Stats, Stats
hello there my friends. well i am a destro raider, and i was just wondering what kind of stats you guys are trying to attain? i'm heavily ulduar geared out.. but now im reaching a crossroads and i cant make a choice. im currently sitting on unbuffed (no fel, no stone): ~2105 sp ~hitcapped ~24%crit ~310 haste i was shuffling my gear around and cant make decisions whether or not i should keep boosting my crit up, start bring my haste up, (obviously ima stack sp as much as possible) what kind of numbers would be ideal for us to achieve optimum dps? (obviously while keeping hit capped, haha it gets tricky when i move items around) thanks for any input ya'll can give. --sety |

Quick question on the numbers there: The higher the number, the greater priority, correct? I would imagine since it makes sense. So for: Warlock_T8_03_13_55 Int=0.28 Spi=0.94 SP=1.49 Crit=0.97 Haste=1.37 I should focus on SP>Haste>Crit>Spirit>Int? |

The 13/58 spec gets the most benefit from gear stats than any other spec, so good gear is a must. It still holds true that haste is slightly better than crit, but I believe in this spec, that you need enough crit to begin to see nice numbers. As always, a balance of stats is the best approach. Use Firestone as 13/58, since the 1% extra damage and extra crit is better than the spellstone.

there is no clear cut definition to start ulduar. hit = hitcapped sp = naxx 25 geared crit = high enough haste = high enough. also you can't scale what you need to do in ulduar 25 the same as ulduar 10. |

Since haste reduce cast time by a percentage, it still provides near-equal benefits compared to non-backdraft builds. Add to the fact that crit requires more rating to accumulate to 1% than haste... well we can conclude haste is still superior. Yes, I know Immolate and Conflag will have a disadvantage due to cast times longer than GCD, but our other spells benefit from haste greatly. |

Haste is considered better than Crit because point for point haste is worth more. Also in my opinion, Haste is something you always have with you, Crit on the other hand falls into the hands of the RNG gods. Plus, in a raid setting you get all kind of raid buffs... boomkin aura or elemental oath +5%, Scorch or ISB +5%, the small percentages from MoTW, Arcane Brilliance, Kings, totem of wrath +3% (not sure if this stacks) , Heart of the crusader (ret pali, again not sure if this stacks still) +3%, if you have 2 piece tier 7 added crit chance on our main fillers.... there are probably some things I have forgotten but you see the added crit from being in a group. But I tend to stack nothing but spellpower, and if i had to choose, would most likely gem for spell power/haste over spell power/crit. Oh yeah, and focus magic +3% crit !
