I stumbled upon the Optigear application for warlocks on the EJ forums. It came up with some interesting results. I entered the values for stats that I found in other EJ simcraft threads (see below). The most interesting thing that showed up here was that every Tier 9 piece was best in slot. I would have thought something else like 4/5 Tier 9 plus Merlin's Robe would have worked out better. In fact, that's why I tried the app in the first place, I wanted to know what the 5th piece should be and which piece it should replace. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? It is correct? Are the stat values off? Is there a problem in the math behind the application? Note: it looks like Hit is very over rated, but that number is calculated from the difference from 368, not zero. I don't know if that is the best way to do it, but I usually just trust the brainiacs at EJ and spend my time killing things in Azeroth. ![]() (I excluded the PVP main hand item which was best in slot as I don't PVP) |

Re: Destruction Warlock Best In Slot (with math)
I would think they are right assuming they have been modified since last patch. I don't remember Haste being valued that much more above crit for destro though. I thought it was something more like sp=1; crit =90; haste=97? or maybe I have crit and haste mixed? |

I've been playing with this. You can change the values - you can even change them in the source files easy enough so that you don't have to re-enter every time. There's still a lot of bugs though - you can't really account for set bonuses that well, some of the trinkets aren't really represented well, and for some reason, when I put 446 for the cap and 'force cap', it only takes me up to 400. Still, all in all, it's promising and is a nice substitute for Rawr, which has yet to really work very well for Warlocks (as well as not allowing you to change stat weighting.) Quote:

Correct me if i'm wrong, but with the spec 0-13-58, since we have no talents to give extra hit, the hit shouldn't be more than 368? Or am i understanding it wrong? Cumps. |

Re: Destruction Warlock Best In Slot (with math)
haste for a destro lock is very important..coming after spell power. the reason why is simple. emp imp talent being buffed to a full 100% chance..this greatly increases burst damage and the faster you get it off the better you are.. and imo the 4 piece bonus isnt much more of a dps increaser than if you stacked haste off other gear pieces in the game.. i currently sit at self buffed fel armor aroughly 2700sp with 677 haste and with conflag procs my incin casts drop to approximately 1.4 sec..i see a lot of locks running with 21% crit but its reallyynot worth it imo as much as stacking haste. i sit at 18% crit since i run with firestone too.. and btw 368 hit would be approx 13%ish and te cap being 17% your 1% shy in raid buffs unless you have all required buffs and what not..but back earlier topic at the stats i sit at the only caster dps that has come close to touching my dps in raids is a mage who significantly outgeared me and that was on teh new fire boss he doing 6.9k dps and i did 6.7k dps..just some info i have found and whawt not you can wow armory/wow heroes me at any time to check..i play on the Dark Iron Realm and my name is Luscifer.. |

Re: Destruction Warlock Best In Slot (with math)
Mine doesn't seem to work...but isn't spirit more important than crit now? for both destro specs? |

Also, I have it set to 368hit because if both of our boomkins are not in the raid at the same time, we will convert one of our healing druids to a boomkin. Their buffs are just too valuable to lose. |
