Need some gem help
Hello!  i just recently switched from 0/13/58 to 3/13/55 because i feel where im lacking is having too much hit for my raids and not enough haste ive known for about a week or so that my gems are totally screwed up right now and i just need to make sure to have 2 blue for my meta can someone help me with this ? because it is honestly confusing the hell out of me The World of Warcraft Armory thank so you much in advanced

Just posted this today in another thread, hopefully it helps: Your gem choices are going to be: Red: Runed Cardinal Ruby Blue:Purified Dreadstone (enough to get your 2 blue sockets for Chaotic Skyflare Diamond) Yellow: Veiled Ametrine or Rigid King's Amber if you to gem your way to hit. You may get in a Reckless Ametrine if there's a yellow slot that gives a decent socket bonus and you're hit capped. Unless the bonus gives you something more than the difference you'd lose from replacing it with a Runed Cardinal Ruby, forget matching the socket color. yes it does answer some questions i had about gems , however i feel like im so low on haste right now that its hurting my dps tremendously ... should i stack haste for the time being or is following your guide here a fail safe way of gemming? |

It is failsafe to follow Fizboz' lead here. What Fiz means by decent socket bonus is, if the socket bonus is 6+ spellpower, and it only requires one yellow gem and however many reds, go for the Reckless gem in the yellow and Runed for the rest. Also, remember to pick which sockets you put the Purified in; you want to go for the best possible socket bonii (usually +spellpower, +haste then +crit then +spirit if that fails). And you can combine these rules to a point. If, for example, a yellow+blue+blue socketed robe gives +7 spellpower, feel free to knock out the blue and then throw in a reckless. However, if you also have 2 single-blue-socket items that give +5 spellpower apiece and that robe, you'd be better off burning your blues in the single-socket items and throwing 3 reds into the robe.

Can someone give me a quick look over on my gems and sockets? ones in question are the shoulders and legs im thinking about changing i am hit capped also thx guys!!

@Klub, the legs are one of the examples I gave above, where the +7 SP bonus and the 10 haste from putting a Reckless Ametrine into the yellow socket outweigh the additional 11 spellpower from the Runed Cardinal Ruby. The shoulders should get a Runed Cardinal Ruby.

You will find as you start upgrading more and more haste will be on gear, so don't worry too much. And even in high level gear, your haste still fluctuates as you're constantly having to juggle stats. Just take fizboz's advice. Since you are now 3/13/55 of course you need to drop your hit % down to 14%. So replace hit gems until you reach that. Ps. Get a spellthread on your legs and go get exalted with Sons of hodir, the shoulder enchant is definitely worth getting. |
