3.2 How to calculate spirit into SP?

When specced into demonic aegis how much spirit is converted into spellpower? And how would I easily determine this amount? For instance a piece of gear has 50 spirit on it, how would I go about determining how much spellpower I would gain from it?

I would like to know an easy way so that I can better determine what are upgrades or not.

.39 x spirit

If you don't have 3/3 demonic aegis, it's .3 x spirit.

For each point of demonic aegis you're adding 3%, which is .3 ( or 3/100) to the calculation.

Also, if you change your immolate glyph with Glyph of Life Tap, the number becomes 59% of spirit (Spirit * 0.59) so long as the buff is up (which should be always in combat).
An in game solution is the Rating Buster addon, which calculates that for you and puts it in the item tooltip.

Thanks for all the info. I didnt even consider the life tap glyph let alone that it would bring further use to spirit from gear. Looking very interesting to switch to life tap glyph. With about 500 spirit, would that be enough to make the switch from immolate glyph?

And if you are Deep Destro, then Shadow and Flame will give your CB and Inc an additional 20% of your SP. So if you got 59% of your Spi from your Demonic Aegis + LT, then your CB and Inc would be getting an additional 20% of 59% = roughly an additional 12%. So your CB and Inc would be getting approximately 71% of your Spi as bonus damage.

@wave
but this does not change the conversion factor spirit -> spellpower.

People keep forgetting the Kings buff. It gives you 10% bonus to your spirit, which makes the conversion (assuming LT glyph + demonic aegis) 0.649.

I agree.

This is definitely useful to make note of as it can make a difference as to whether someone might use a purified dreadstone to activate a +5 SP socket or bite the bullet and plop the runed cardinal ruby in the slot.

Huhwhatnow?

Your total spirit is affected by several raid buffs, which in turn affects your spell power. The raid buffs for spirit also include Divine Spirit and Mark of the Wild. Why treat kings differently? The important thing is your total spirit, after all buffs.

No talents= spirit * 0.3
3/3 Demonic Aegis = spirit * 0.39
3/3 Demonic Aegis + Glyph of Life Tap = spirit * 0.59 (so long as you keep the glyph activated)

Kings is different in that it's a multiplier. All other stat buffs are additive.

Buffed Spirit = (Spirit + Divine Spirit + Gift of the Wild) * Blessing of Kings
