4.0 T11 4 Piece Set bonus

Is it worth it? or should we continue to stay with 2set ?

Looking for responses from Locks who are sporting the set bonus:

1. Is the 2% proc rate too low?

2. damage done? what kind of numbers are you seeing?

Fel Spark - Spell - World of Warcraft

Thanks

not having 4p t11 myself, if 2% is anything like destros emp. imp proc rate id have to say its really slim to none.
probably a dps loss to fire the two casts outside standard 'rotation' unless moving

overall, unless the pieces themselves are good id not bother with 4p

edit: i avg. 3k non-crit so 300% is 9k, im not sure how the crit would calculate with our baked in 200% crit bonus, but id guess damage>fel spark>crit,
so 3000base>felspark(300%)>crit(200%)= 24000 in theory

Re: T11 4 Piece Set bonus

My first raid with x 4 bonus was tonite & we tried Mal Heroic (25)

During the AOE add phase it proved useful but there again there were 5 x immo's ticking away.

Nice to have the x 4 bonus but not essential ( EJ boffins compute 140 overall increase in DPS which is meagre for a full tier bonus TBH ) :(

EJ came up with 140? That's pretty close to my back-of-the-envelope calculation for fel spark here: Destruction: Advanced DPS Tactics

if its worth 140 dps according to EJ, then that's swell I guess--another buff for locks huh?...woo hoo!
the 4pT11 bonus is uninspired and boring, but see, that's not what EJ is concerned about...they don't actually play the game apparently, just figure out the math behind it

How long does the 4pc buff last , indefinitely? In that case, it's pretty nice considering I use fel flame a lot if I am moving and so many fights require movement.

And the 140 DPS increase from EJ is probably assuming no movement. If you are moving a lot, fel flame will account for a great amount of your overall DPS as you cannot cast incinerates etc on the move.

For me, I just need to figure out what the right 4th piece is. I assume the helm is what I want. The glove stats aren't too amazing. I got my shoulders tonight, and almost have enough badges for 4pc via hands. So I may sim that to see what it gives.

Well, it's better than the typical uninspired +5% bonus to <blah blah blah> we usually see. I'll get 4 piece bonus just to have another proc to add to powerauras. Can't never get enough poweraura's here!

I have the same thoughts and feelings as far as movement fights go, and the DPS increase that EJ projected is based on a patchwerk-style fight. I think for this tier, I feel as if I might need two sets of gear, one which uses four piece and one which uses only two.

Reasoning for that is because there are some fights that requires very little movement (Rohash, Magmaw, etc) where the four piece wouldn't be utilized often.

In any case, for me, I'm just going to slowly get the four piece this tier.

I'm thinking the same thing. The last time I did Atramedes--a very high movement fight--almost 9% of my damage was surprisingly from fel flame, considering the fact that I'm an aff lock. I'm guessing that for high movements fights (which there are many in cata), this 4pc bonus will be a nice boost if used correctly.

While it's not a sexy dps boost, I wouldn't consider it boring. It changes our rotation. It means that we watch for the proc, and when it procs, we cast 2 Fel Flames as filler instead of incinerate.

Boring would be something that just does more dps, without any change in our rotation. Sexy would be something like a 400 dps boost.
