Mod to show a casting bar for your pet?

Hi there,

Is there a mod that will show a casting bar for my pet? i.e. something like what I get everytime I cast shadowbolt that gives visual indication how much time left till the spell is compelte.

I'd prefer a mod on the smaller-side i.e. something that does just this as opposed to Necrosis. But if Necrosis or any of the other larger mods do this I'd also like to know about it.

Also it occurs to me that maybe this is in the regular UI but I just haven't found it. If it is please don't hesitate to point it out for me.

Thank you for any help!

If I remember correctly, X-Perl's pet bar can show cast time and also the time remaining on a seduce...

I use Natur EnemyCastbar. It shows pet cast timers as well as time left on seduce etc. Really handy mod for PvP and PvE as well.

X-Perl Unit Frames does indeed do this and it's great. It shows a pet cast bar and the time remaining on Seduce. Couple that with a macro and it's excellent for CC.

Re: Mod to show a casting bar for your pet?

Thanks again for the suggestions, but I thought I'd bump this because I tried both X-Perl and Natur EnemyCastingbar and I wasn't 100% happy with either.

X-Perl does exactly what I want but it feels like overkill. It has more options than I need and the feature that I do want feels buried in the interface (the placement of the bar I want to look at is very near to other similar looking bars which makes it hard to find quickly). Also it is probably just personal preference, but for some reason the X-Perl unit frames feel like they take more effort to read for health/mana information than the default frames.

For Natur EnemyCastingBar, I couldn't figure out how to make it do what I wanted. It *did* show a bar for seduce after it was cast, i.e. how long the seduce is going to last. But it *did not* show a bar for while the Succubus was casting seduce (and I couldn't find an option to to make it show one).

Perhaps I'll rephrase the question: the biggest flaw in my playing right now happens when seduce does not go off when I trigger it (by press my Macro key binding). (This is a problem that I know others are also experiencing, since I've read several posts in various forums about it recently). Right now my seduce strategy is this: I hit the seduce key and then run around waiting to either see or hear one of the very subtle built-in signals that seduce has started casting. During this time, I am not taking other actions.

In PVE, this means I lose out on doing significant extra damage because my attention is focused on looking for a subtle signal rather than dealing damage. In PVP, *if that seduce does not go off*, it usually means I lose because I have wasted too much time doing nothing looking for a signal.

So my questions for everyone who uses seduce are:

1. If you don't have an interface mod to show if seduce has gone off instantly and clearly, than what do you do differently than the above?

2. If you do have a mod that helps in these situations then what is it? (I had asked specifically for a pet casting bar, but really any visual indication that seduce has started casting would work fine (casting time would nice too)).

You could always turn off most of the features of X-Perl.

Because a mod has many functions doesnt mean you have to use them.

I have most of them turned off otherwise raiding would fill up too much of my screen.

My max rez is only 1400x900 because of my monitor.

xperl is great after you turn off half of it and move everything to where it goes...

classic example of UI clutter but at least you can custmize it

I could not agree with this more. I love X-perl's features, but it's not worth it if I don't have a good feeling of how much health myself and my pet have remaining. I've played around with placing these frames at different locations, but good positions for seeing you health bar are terrible for seeing anything else going on in the world.

Has anyone found good settings to combat this problem? Is there any way to skin X-perl? Or should we just force outselves to get used to it?

Re: Mod to show a casting bar for your pet?

I changed the opacity of bars in x-perl to 80%, placed my portrait and my target on either side of center (so I can see the BG flag caps, etc, in the middle), and dragged my pet portrait down to the pet action bar.

Seems to work better, as I don't have to move my eyes off-axis to check mine or my targets health (ie, I just have to glance slightly up or down; instead of upper left or upper right).

I put the rest of my ui in the bottom third of my screen, using viewport to resize the screen (no more misclicking spells when trying to target a close player or spin the camera for Halaa bombing runs).

Like many of the others above, NECB + X-Perl FTW
