Broken Add Ons in 2.2?

Is anyone else having Add on issues with the new patch?

Two of my favorites, Autobar and Cartographer, are broken. Cart won't load at all, and Autobar appears in the UI but the buttons don't do anything.

I've been downloading updates from Wowace.com but so far they haven't helped.

Did 2.2 break anything for you?

(Sorry about the misplaced post, Akasha. I'm usually better about that sort of thing.)

You will need to wait for update on each mod that supports version 2.2 of wow, my action bar mods wont work either, i will just have to wait for the developers to upload.

Since i use a lot of mods I'm going to make a list of what mods aren't working and either find a Replacement or Update each one

The latest version of cart works for me, with the exception of the party colors feature which I miss sorely. Just make sure to install the rock libraries.

I miss loot link and atsw though. Neither of them work for me.

Re: Broken Add Ons in 2.2?

Seriously, this is so annoying! Every major patch blizzard changes coding and stuff, which is done to avoid bots etc etc. As if the bot developers aren't able to update them the same as every other addon... makes no sense whatsoever.

Unless you are using the default blizz UI - you're good, but majority of experienced locks will be using tonns of addons to make our life a liittle simpler and more colorfull - we suffer every single patch. Every time there's a new patch i personally have to go around looking for all the new addons - close to 100 of them!!!! I've initially come to a point where i was simply using Cosmos it's easy - launch the cosmos and it will update them all for you. Regularly maintained and updated fast - but it doesn't give me the functionality i want. CT doesn't give the functionality i want either... There are a LOT of really good separate mods out there and each has to be updated on it's own from it's own website... There's a few UI updaters out there, but not a single one of them is 100% failproof or actually updates them all.

Seriously, it's ridiculous! Anyone managed to find any solution to this? What i started doing is i compiled a list of each addon i used in a text file with a link to each of their webpages where they are updated the most regularly. Which leads to just sitting around and waiting for the authors to update it...

Authors of the addons, apparently, have a life! More often that i would like them to they stop maintaining / updating the addons, it dies... have to switch to another one, and then guess what... rinse and repeat, another author gone, another addon dies... Yeah i've been using X-Perl for a long time - it has the most incredible functionality and is updated regularly a great thanks to the authors of that, but in the 3 years of WoW i've switched between over a dozen action bar addons, each of them dying, new one appearing, rinse and repeat...

So yeah, it's a Wed today, the patch came out last night, when i get home i can't raid 'cos there's gonna be nothing but a load of not working crap on my screen... gonna have to sit, look for the updates, blah blah blah at least a few hours before the raid starts, by the time everyone's done updating everything the raid time is waaaaaaay gone and another raiding night wasted on the same old addon updating crap...

Re: Broken Add Ons in 2.2?

I loged on this morning to find all my addons "outdated". Of course checking the "load outdated addons" solved the problem and the error messages on login can be ignored.

But one thing puzzled me. My addons are all over the places. To be exact, my screen seems to have shrung even though I am still using the same resolution (1920 x 1200).

1) I cannot fit in all my addons into the scrren anymore.
2) Some of my addons are out of the scrren (when previously it was at the edge). This lead me to conclude there is something wrong with the wide screen resolution.

A search on the wow forum seems to show that it happen before durin the PTR but got fixed but not this time round. Guess gonna wait for them to fix it . http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...78035869&sid=1

I use atsw (assuming you are referring to Adv Trade Skill Window that is). It has been updated fairly recently (i.e. the last few months). In fact I opened up my atsw just last night to make some potions.

Re: Broken Add Ons in 2.2?

A couple things I've heard confirmed...

Something was changed in the default UI scaler that caused some people scaling to go crazy. This is not an addon issue, but a result of a blizz change.

Itemrack is currently causing issues with the character sheet. There is a fix, and I believe a new version released.

Geist (if anyone uses it) is all kinds of jacked up. I haven't seen/heard of a fix just yet.

Strange raid frame behavior has cropped up. So far the best solution is to /console reloadui until you can close the frames. It may take as many as 5 times to be able to close them.

Sound is now strange, due to the new engine in the voice chat patch. Many people are reporting reduced sound quality, wonky settings, and we had some issues with Vent. Best fix so far seems to be to load vent BEFORE starting WoW, and we suspect there may be some sort of conflict there with the SPEEX codec.

Some settings (placement of perl frames) were lost in the upgrade.

I had one person completely lose their addon and wtf folders.

Moral of the story? Just cancel raids on patch days. Too much hassle.

I guess some settings (like the scale settings) have been reset. I know that I am going to make a backup of everything first, before I patch WoW tonight. Hopefully that saves some time...

Re: Broken Add Ons in 2.2?

The UI problem can be fixed by going into video options and adjusting the UI scale to where you need it. This solved my issue with the UI but I am still getting what I call lag for the lack of a better term. FPS is high, lat low, and memory usage low but still the slight lag.

Re: Broken Add Ons in 2.2?

There was a new version of Geist posted last night on Curse, http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/916/. I downloaded it after I logged out last night, so not sure if it fixed everything or not though.
