Re: Any locks use macros for spell casting i can copy from?
i use these: /petattack /castsequence reset=target Immolate, Siphon Life, Couse Of Agony, Corruption, Shadowbolt ************************************************** ************* and these are some space saving macros i use: >this one casts demon armor when normal clicked, detect invisibility when shift clicked, unending breath when alt clicked, and sense demons when control clicked: /cast Demon Armor /cast [modifier:shift] Detect Invisibility /cast [modifier:alt] Unending Breath /cast [modifier:ctrl] Sense Demons >this one makes a healthstone when normal clicked, a soulstone when shift clicked, a spellstone when control clicked, and a firestone when alt clicked /cast Create Healthstone /cast [modifier:shift] Create Soulstone /cast [modifer:ctrl] Create Spellstone /cast [modifier:alt] Create Firestone >this summons a voidwalker when normal clicked, a felhunter when shift clicked, an imp when alt clicked, and a succubus when control clicked /cast Summon Voidwalker /cast [modifier:shift] Summon Felhunter /cast [modifer:alt] Summon Imp /cast [modifier:ctrl] Summon Succubus *********************************** >this one finds a target, fears it, and then un-targets the person /focus [target=focus, noexists]; [target=focus, dead] /cast Fear /clearfocus >this one finds a target, casts a spell, then un-targets the person /focus [target=focus, noexists]; [target=focus, dead] /cast Siphon Life (or any other spell you want) /clearfocus i hoped this helped! |

Any lock should be topping or getting close to topping DPS meters in Kara (which you're talking about) without trying too hard. As was mentioned by Valdor, due to the way that warlock DoTs don't complete nice and evenly, you either run the risk of overwriting a DoT, or leaving too much time between reapplications. Plus manually rewriting resisted DoTs partly defeats the purpose of having a macro in the first place. It's easy to bind your dots to keys in sequence. Regardless of what you do, nothing is going to save you from having to keep close eye on your dot-timer, nor is it going to save you from not noticing a resist. There's a 1.5 second window before you can cast your next spell (due to Global Cooldown), which is plenty of time to line up your next spell. The other issue is that many fights, especially at T5 and T6 level, have mechanics which mitigate against using a full DoT rotation for affliction warlocks, due to aggro wipes (Hydross, Leotheras), immunities (Naj'entus) etc. You often have a window only to put certain select DoTs at various cycles of the fight, or not DoTs at all. In these cases, you have to ignore your cast sequence macro and apply dots individually and with some thought. |
