Necrosis
Necrosis Download from: [ Curse Gaming ] Rating: Would have a higher rating except it is not currently updated or supported by it's author.Description: Necrosis is a mod which help warlocks to manage their stones, shards, and demon summons. The infamous Necrosis Ball still appears on a number of UI mods and was the original add-on to present a number of Spells in an easy-to-use format which removed some of the need for more traditional action bars. Its generally still a very good add-on with options for shard management, spell menu's, and submits various messages to the user in the form of visual/audio prompts (when mobs have fear resistance, or are able to be banished, or if Shadowtrance/Backlash procs). Although its not currently that well supported it still seems to function. Member comments: Necrosis is great, if you don't want to mess with a bunch of add-ons. However, if your an add-on junkie like myself there are better alternatives to nearly everything necrosis does, including creating your on macros for things like the banish/focus. That having been said if you only want one add-on (or very few), get Necrosis. ~ Majestrix Necrosis seems to be a stand-by for any 'starter' warlock. It's a good way to start getting things organized and then as you learn/decide what you want to do with your UI you can move on or customize it depending on your tastes. The main reason I still keep it loaded is to have all of my curses in a pop-out menu for easy/fast use. ~ Nereida Necrosis WAS awesome. But, it hasn't been updated in ages, and I just can't use and rely upon such an outdated mod. I'd like to see a new all-in-one mod come along, but I haven't seen anything that comes close to Necrosis. ~ Chriasas

Re: Necrosis
I have used necrosis since level 30 and used to swear by it, by I recently reviewed what I used it for and decided to stop. I've spent a long time cleaning my UI so I could see more of what is going. This enables me to take more of a raid/class leader role and also helps me avoid things like aoe's. Necrosis is, alas, a big lump of buttons and isn't space efficient. I like some of the things it did like Shift+Click for a HS portal, but this is easily replicated in a macro, as are the buffs and the banish/focus thing it does. I had a sound issue for a long time (since voice comms came in) and had been playing with no sound so i got very good at spotting nightfall procs, so i disabled the scary guy shouting "Shadow Trance" at me. I also had dotimers installed and they showed the same info but better so i disabled spell timers. After all this, I was left with a shard tracker. eeShards plugin for FuBar did this much more efficiently, so Necrosis is gone. Despite that, it is great. I'd recommend it to anyone but its never going to be perfect. I use the hunter, mage and shaman version on my respective alts because they are an easy way of learning spells without having to be a expert macro maker. |

Re: Necrosis
It's a good mod but in my opinion, shardace is better. |

Re: Necrosis
The only thing I miss about Necrosis is the audible Shadowtrance or Backlash Proc.

Re: Necrosis
I agree with what's been said. Necrosis seems to be a stand-by for any 'starter' warlock. It's a good way to start getting things organized and then as you learn/decide what you want to do with your UI you can move on or customize it depending on your tastes. The main reason I still keep it loaded is to have all of my curses in a pop-out menu for easy/fast use. |

Re: Necrosis
Used to use it and I found I didn't need most of the stuff it had. I switched to lylock and it is more useful to me. Lylock and DotTimer is all I have for lock specific mods.

Re: Necrosis
I use Necrosis, lylock, and DoTimer. I like Necrosis for the stone management, and use the large circle for lifetap. The nightfall/backlash notifications are very handy. Chuck that SB vice refreshing a dot early (evil Maiden). I would have rated this as a "Must have," except it hasn't been updated in over a year and the developer has been missing on his forums for almost as long. Still works though, just getting nervous. |

I used the original(?) Necrosis waaay back before 2.0 and the broken mod debacle; never liked the buttony replacement. What Xyndra said: Quote:

Re: Necrosis
I like having Necrosis for the warning that I have a nightfall proc. I also use the big button for my fel armor so i don't have to use a button or pull up the spell book to recast that after death or when it is going to go out. The shard counter is nice and I also like using the demon list to easily summon or enslave demons, because having the demons on my buttons used a lot of space, and you only enslave demons occasionally in instances and to help with quests. Also the helpful buffs that I didn't use too often, but liked to have easy access to, were able to be reached with a simple click of the mini menu button. So no more clogging my button bar with waterbreathing and see invisibility and summon person. |
