Re: SW stats
I tried this one, but proffered Damage Meters. No idea if that's still being used now a days. Apparently there is also "recount" now too?

Re: SW stats
It is a nice damage meter, I will give it that. It syncs with other raid members, etc. But in a raid, others have to agree to reset the meter, or the raid leader does it or something, not sure how that works, but I found I could not reset it when I wanted to, right before a boss fight. Violation, is the addon I would recommend. Easy to use, reset however many times you want, and it shows you clearly how much damage was put out, healing, overhealing, critical hits, etc. Pretty much anything you want to know. And you do not have to really do anything fancy to find those stats. It also gives you a top 10 DPSer rank underneath the icon when you roll over it; which I thought was pretty cool. I run both SWstats AND Violation. I run SW stats to see what the other raiders see in the raid, as to who is where in terms of their overall damage out put. But I also run my all time favorite damage meter, Violation for my own use. :-) Just my two cents! |

Re: SW stats
I used to use SW for the longest time and then I discovered Recount. Recount is so much better in looks and functionality I think. Personally I'm sold on using soley ACE mods anymore since they seem to be the best at keeping the mods up to date. ![]() SW Stats...Meeehh. Recount FTW! |

Re: SW stats
SW Stats is pretty powerfull tool, but not updated anymore, iŽd recommend recount which is even better and updated on an almost daylie basis. Beware both sw stats and recount are very resource hungry. dr damage has nothing to do with a damage meter... the addon actually called damage meter is s bad that a chill runs down my spine when people use it to report their damage done... |

I went to damage meters, thought I was in love, not having to remember to reset the darn thing till I saw "Prosessing..." after the fight was over to find that I wasn't number one on the damage list like it said during the fight. I just quit using them anymore an ask my raid leader for a performance review. He would tell me if I was sucking it up. |

Re: SW stats
Recount is the only decent damage meter. It's fairly close to what you will see in WWS when you parse out the logs after a raid, and the difference usually just has to do with the way each of them computes activity time. Total damage done is generally the same, but Recount usually comes up with a higher DPS number. And yes, it's quite a resource hog, though strangely enough it's nowhere near as bad as some of the "lightweight" alternatives I've had people recommend to me in the past. Like Assessment, for instance. |

Re: SW stats
I'd never rate any damage meter as a must have. It's a tool for information. As for all the posts of what's better and such, I haven't seen anything beat WWS, but SWstats is handy as you see it during the run. The author is updating this on his website, and it is getting updated for 2.4 http://forums.sw-stats.com/ I'll have to look into Recount, never tried it. But I chose SWstats over damage meters due to it's shared channel path with other users. This prevents missing data due to being out of range of people if at least someone else is using it. |

Re: SW stats
Recount, Recap, SW Stats, Damage Meter, etc are all addons that check how much damage you did during a certain fight and tell you (Recount does, others im not sure anymore) your damage and the damage per spell. Dr Damage tells you how much your spells would do, in theory. Correct me if im wrong but, either a player is using a damage meter as a EP contest, or both kind of addons are worth it, in order to improve your dps, thus having the same ideal. One with physical evidence, the other with theory, but both with the same end. |
