Re: How to Download, Compile and Run simcraft on Windows for Patch 3.1.2
I got very confused with this guide when it told you to fill in all your stats, but luckily you can just import them from the armory. All i did basically, was right click the Scale_factors.BAT file and edit, then put something like this in the command line: simcraft.exe max_time=300 patch=3.2.2 optimal_raid=1 output=n2.txt calculate_scale_factors=1 smooth_scale_factors=1 iterations=10000 threads=2 armory=eu,Darkspear, jointhedotz For jointhedotz who i did it on earlier. You save, then double click it and it calculates it. But please if anyone knows how to set it up with the right buffs (no shaman for example) then i can get a more accurate set of scale factors for my 10man raids. |

Re: How to Download, Compile and Run simcraft on Windows for Patch 3.1.2
you can put your complete raid in one simulation (except for those classes that are not implemented, e.g. DK's... there buffs are there though). Then you set optimal_raid=0 and see your result (dps list for each class in the raid). Is a bit of work, but basically with the new armory import you can just import each of your guildmates from the armory, save them e.g. as player1.simcraft ... player10.simcraft and then create a .bat file similar to the one above that runs all the profiles together. Look at the Raid_TX.simcraft files if you're not sure how to do it. PS: This guide is obsolete. |

If you run simcraft for a raid, it will simulate all raid members, giving you the dps numbers for all members. I don't know if it is possible to switch certain buffs on and off, since that was not the initial design goal apparently (there are options in the globals.simcraft file for a few buffs from classes that are not themselves implemented). btw, just download the lastest precompiled simcraft package from their website, there's no need to follow any of the steps in this guide currently. What I suggested you to do is to open one of the Raid_T9/8/7 files and look how they work, then build a similar file for your personal raid setup. |

Do I save this inside a .txt file or use this as the .txt file name? edit: In playing around with it, it seems to save a .txt file the above. I couldn't get teh scale factors to work properly though so I deleted that out of the file name. Last edited by Darklawdog; September 25, 2009 at 11:02 AM.. |

Hey been wantint to use simcraft for a while. Just too complicated for me. I couldnt get this to work either. Is there another program similar I can use? I just want to test new pieces of gear or gem changes etcc to see what difference they make. It would be nice to simply pull my character from the armory change any gems gear ect.. and run the dps. anyways it sounds great maybe one day i'll get someone to e-mail the thing allready set up. lol |
