Macro for Multiple Targets?
I've set up one of my action bars to /target names for faction champs. It's a pretty chaotic fight, and I hate tabbing around to try and target the next mob. A question for you macro experts: Is there any way to /target two different names (if the mobs don't appear at the same time)? In other words, since there's only ever one priest, can I make a single macro/button that will target Brienna Nightfell (SP) if she's there or Anthar Foregemender (Disc) if he is? |

Re: Macro for Multiple Targets?
I don't think its possible with the current macro system (they specifically coded it so macros can't make decisions like that). Even the /castsequence command won't let you intelligently decide to change a target. Having said that - I guess you could experiment with using the alternate target (i.e. focus) and see if what you want to do is possible. |

Re: Macro for Multiple Targets?
I'm not a macro expert, but have you tried to just put both target commands in one macro? /target Brienna Nightfell /target Anthar Forgemender dunno what this would do

I don't know, but it can't hurt to try it out when I get home... Sometimes the simplest answers... |

Re: Macro for Multiple Targets?
As far as my macro skills go, i would say that the suggested macro is working. I have one for Jaraxxus hc, simply /tar Nether Portal /tar Infernal Volcano Once he is near to open one, i spam this macro (every half second can decide) and he targets the one that is available. Yet i dont know how it would behave if both targets were up at the same time, but in your and mine case this wont happen, so who cares :-P |

I use a macro very similar for my dailies in Icecrown. This will work in your case. If you were to use it when Enemy 1 and Enemy 2 were both in range, it would prefer Enemy 2. Code:
/target <name of enemy 1> /target <name of enemy 2> /cast [harm] <spell or item you want to use>

Re: Macro for Multiple Targets?
It seems like when both targets' name that you macro to target are within range & alive, it will always be on the last name on your macro list that you'll be targeting. |
