3.2 Looking for a Solid UI

My screen is a disaster.

Currently, I use the following Addons:

Necrosis, Dominos, Sexy Map, XPerl, Quartz, Power Auras, BigWigs, Omen, Fubars, Baggins, Minimount (which is really just a macro to summon random mounts), Cartographer, Skada, ORA2 and Atlas Loot.

I would post a screen shot but it makes me ><.

I would love to use one of the premade ones that rule that I've found, but they are all set for seemingly every resolution but mine.

I run WoW at 1360x768.

I am our guild's Raid Leader and I occassionally heal with my Shammy. My main is my lock and I just dinged 79 with my new Druid (Feral) wednesday.

Anybody have any advise on a nice, slick UI? I've tried Spartan. I didn't really like it.

It's vital for me to be able to bind spells quickly because I keybind nearly every spell there is. At least on my lock and Shammy. I haven't determine if the 9 bars I would need for my Druid would be worth it.

I miss my old Bongos 2 because you could bind right out of your spell book without a bar.......

I also need something like ORA2 for leading our raids, BigWigs, Omen (aka don't die warlock) and some sort of setup that allows for totem timers on my shammy.

Resources are not an issue, I run a 8800 GTX, i7, Vista64, with raided 150GB WD Raptors (10K RPM) and 12 GB of RAM.

Re: Looking for a Solid UI

I found one.

It will take some time to fix properly, but I went with Haunted UI.

Haunted UI : WoWInterface Downloads : Graphical Compilations

If anybody else is looking, this is an awesome UI. The only change I've made is swapping out Bartender4 for Dominos. I highly prefer dominos to Bartender.

I was about to buy a sick monitor. Then I got a 26" flat panel TV as a gift. A really nice Samsung.

I was going to put it in my bedroom, but then my lease ran out on my car and I had to get a new car. So I figured to get a loaded car and save the cash and am still using the TV.

It is nice to be able to PIP NFL games right on top of WoW while doing dailies.

LOL.

I actually really like the Resolution.

Wait, you have 26" flat panel TV and are only running in 1300x700 resolution? That seems to be really low considering the size of the screen.

I have a 24" Samsung monitor and am running at 1920x1200. I recently upgraded my video card, but prior to that I was also using an 8800 and it ran decently at that resolution.

If I were you I would try to find a way to trade in the TV for a monitor and an extra video card that can take input from a coax cable.

The TV's max resolution is 1360x768 according to everything I've read. The Coax cable may let it work better.

Truthfully, I will get a new monitor. I have some other things in front of it and I want to get a new Video Card while I'm at it.

Probably next year......

Re: Looking for a Solid UI

Have to try that. Currently i use carbonite and that by itself is a major ui cleaner. I dunno why people insist in sexymap. Pointless, featureless and too much wasted space compared to carbonite's. Bartender does the rest. I resized my bars for shorter version as i don't need big buttons and disabled most of them that i don't use. I've organized it all to use the bottom of the screen in an organized way recount included. I keep omen in the middle left of the screen cos i find it easier to track there. Only thing that floats around is healbot cos i like to move it depending on the fight. I use fortxorcist but i will get rid of it. Not usefull. I'm using xpearl and when i'm alone is nice but it's a real mess when in raid. Grid is a far better option. I travel alot so i play on a 15'' laptop monitor. Can't afford to play on the 22 monitor i have at home, so screen space resources are limited but i seem to be able to keep it uncluttered. I'll post a screenshot later on. Oh i also use wim. I wisp alot with lots of people. It takes a bit more screen space but i wouldn't be able to keep track of it all without it, it's amazing.

how you are connected to the monitor may be why its limiting your resolution. If you are using say a VGA port on the TV, if it has HDMI, try a DVI to HDMI adapter (assuming your vid card has dvi)

I have it hooked up with HDMI. The TV's maximum resolution is 1360x768. There's no way around it.

I had a UI that I downloaded but I ended up not liking it, and minimalizing my existing UI.

I just use:

Dominos, XPerl, ORA2, BigWigs, Omen, Power Auras, Necrosis, Sexy Map, Cartographer and Prat.

It does everything I need it to do and nothing I don't. I had Skinner on it for a while, but I just shrunk my bars and lowered their opacity since I have every spell keybound and now have them all memorized so my bars are relatively worthless (WTB old Bongos Feature that let you keybind right out of your spell book!).

I will say that the one last Addon that I didn't list that I love is MiniMount. It randomly uses different mounts and is basically the macro that uses flying if you can fly or ground if you can't.

And it doesn't use the slow one's, although I still whip out the unpainted mechanostrider from time to time because it's so cool.

Re: Looking for a Solid UI

Having just had a look at nUI (I'm yet to instal it) I would say that it is a nice looking UI.

The site for it is www.nuiaddon.com - can't say how it will translate to my pc as I'm at work right now but what I saw looked very promising.
